The Salem Witch Trials are a great example of what humans have become. We are cows of collective fears, morality, patheticness, subjects of manipulation, the currents may toy with us however they please and we hardly notice because it is a part of nature. If a 5 year old child is told stealing is wrong, they will develop morals against stealing, a fear of the consequences, and a belief that stealing is just naturally wrong. Sadly, our brains still use that same learning process so if some person of credibility(parents, the president,'jesus')puts the idea in your head that if you murder you will go to hell, we will automatically respond with an irrational fear of eternal misery and we will not murder.
But what if our person of credibility is an idiot? Everything that we think is right is actually wrong. But how would we know? The same concepts are applied to the Salem Witch Trials. People put their faith in a corrupted priest and end up destroying themselves. Betty Paris accuses someone of witch craft, she throws fits and claims that the 'witch' is hurting her, and people believed her! She was a 9 year old creating mischeif and 20 women were humiliated and hung because of her! Human idiots put their faith in the preist who opposed witch craft so when the preist decided it reasonable to just hang someone accused, people saw him as their credible person, and went along with it! He got everyone to believe these women were witches, that they needed to be punished and sent to hell, because of his own fear of 'god', his own guilt, just like Betty Paris'.
Our dependency on a faith will be our downfall.
Who know? I could be completely wrong.
