Well,it depends on your family really.If you choose to tell them then of course they will probably ask questions and criticize you even.If you are going to tell them just be prepared for the possibilty that your family might start to preach to you and try to sway you to change your faith. Telling your family could bring trepidation to your normal daily lives for a time.but really it depends on your family.I wish you the best of luck

2 very wise adages can answer you question:

I cannot impress this upon the group enough here. The system has drummed into peoples' heads a need to tell and tell. This is how those in positions of authority can get the information they need to screw anyone to the wall- for anything.
ANYONE who knows your secrets has power over you. Ever hear of blackmail and extortion??? Best friends can turn enemies over night. Just because you love someone and believe it will last forever, that doesn't mean it will.
KEEP YOUR BIG MOUTH SHUT!!!!!!!
I am NOT advocating any breaking of the law here in any way, as we are law abiding, but a perfect example is over 90% of those serving prison terms ANYWHERE are in there because of their own big mouth. This here is something to think about. I am only using this as a powerful example of what a big mouth can do- ruin your entire life.
Then, psychologists and such know how to get people to talk. They are on the phone or in a room with you and remain silent. MOST FOOLS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH SILENCE. This is a very effective tactic in getting a fool to open up and talk. LEARN TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH SILENCE! IT WILL SAVE YOUR ASS MORE THAN YOU KNOW. If someone plays that game, remain silent, no matter how uncomforable it might seem. Think of something else. If they then reveal you are saying nothing- say the same to them- neither are they. Don't fall for that one.
Another scheme- as old as time and has worked wonders for those in authority is to get two or more people they suspect of something and seperate them. Then they go on "Your friend told us everything, so you might as well confess." The idiot will believe this and then get all angry and blurt everything out. Then, they have a confession to mete out whatever punishment they see fit.
Power meditation, especially void meditation helps to maintina silence and THINK before you speak. Ask yourself: 'WHY do I have to tell anybody this?' AND 'what is the potential outcome if others find out?'
We all have two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears, two nostrils and ONE MOUTH THAT CAN COMPLETELY DESTROY OUR ENTIRE LIFE PERMANENTLY IF WE OPEN IT AT THE WRONG TIME.
This is extremely serious. Learn this and learn it well.

i told my foster-mother and my real mother, they dis-agreed badly. and my father said belief was totally made up just to hold some strength in life. when i try'd to explain what it actually is, they just dont want to listen. so i think its best to not tell anyone.
