I was raised in an Episcopalian house and spent much time with Catholics and Baptists during my education. My father went to school to be a minister and my mother taught sunday school and sang in the choir as a kid. I was browbeat with the bible until I was a teenager when I discoverred certain truths. I know the holy bible inside and out and better than most christians.

I have also read every major book on the occult and numerous minor books on it as well. When I went to college my Sociology thesis was on organised religion.

Yet no matter where I go in life I find myself in an uphill struggle with the types of people drawn to the left hand path. When I was in high school it was the loner/loser type kids that were drawn to satanism. When I was in prison it was mostly pedophiles that were drawn to these groups because they were more tolerant and desparate for numbers. I was appalled and would like to find some decent people that share the same core beliefs that I do.

Well now I am out and the new thing is that the emo kids and the goth kids are dabbling into this realm but their heart isn't into it. I get numerous emails about certain topics and I am shocked at what I am seeing.

Can we try to educate ourselves more in this matter and all matters while we are at it. I am getting messages from people who can't spell,can't form a proper sentence and who basically sound like they have a third grade education.

It is getting to be really difficult to get people to take our way of life seriously when we get the deviants,misfits and dregs of society in our circle. Are there no people of intelligence out there who share the same beliefs?And if there are than let's do what we can to educate the masses and try to better ourselves instead of just getting the gawky kids that are only into this way of life because they learned about it from listenning to a Deicide album or from watching some cheesy low budget horror flick. If we want to spread the word than we must do better for ourselves and we must take ourselves seriously if we expect anyone else to.

There are plenty of level headed and well advised people who follow Satanism. After reading your message, I believe that you feel this way possibly because you are making the error of comparing your spiritual beliefs to far more mainstream and visible organized religions.

The biggest obstacle for Satanism is that it is widely (and wrongly) labeled and regarded as evil. The "gawky kids" whom identify themselves as Satanists just because it seemed cool in a movie certainly do not help matters either.

Once this image problem is conquered however, the rest should fall in short order. Let us hope that it gains far more momentum in our lifetime.

I understand what you mean. Satanism is very misunderstood and the media only shows the bad side. Myself I´m not even 18 but I have seen a lot of people here (on our group) being so stupid that I can´t describe it. They are mad dogs chasing every piece of meat that are thrown at them. Sure we can try to throw spells at every enemy but that will only backfire. The church have to much power and they have people who can turn everyone against us if they get something to work with. We need to go more public and show them that we are not evil, right now we can´t do that because of our mad dogs. We need to start training and teaching the new people in our group. I practices martial arts and sometimes new people come there in hope of fighting (fighting until one is unconscious). They first thing our teacher is doing is to make sure that they understand that we are serious and we do not hurt each other and innocent people. The same thing is it with black magic, it is justice not a tool for killing/hurting people randomly. I´m new to satanism but if there are people here willing to learn I gladly teach them everything I know.

Extremely well said.  How we communicate says a lot about us.  Using proper grammar and spelling goes a long way to being taken seriously.  Our appearances, hygiene, how we carry ourselves speaks volumes.  We need to get rid of the typical media fed idea of what a Satanist looks like/acts with our own actions.

Plenty of Satanists out there are successful, employed, together people, they are just lying low.  I'm in a position where I can be somewhat 'out' but I have to be careful, because of my job (gov't).  It pays for us to be law abiding, intelligent and well turned out.  I work with people who are Without, and they act the fool so much, all the while bleating on about gawd and family values, while they make a mockery of it in their own lives.  It makes our side look that much better, sane and reasonable.  Let them be fools, while we go about our business with dignity and strength.

Since you started your respone with "Look,dude" it is obvious that you completely missed the point of what I said or maybe you were one of the ones I was referring to. I am tired of ignorance and blatant stupidity being lumped together with satanism. I get tired of trying to explain what this religion is really about when people constantly feel like we are like the dumb stoner kids from horror movies. There is more to the left hand path than listenning to an old Black sabbath and shopping at Hot Topic. I'm not saying that everyone needs to get themselves a BA to be taken seriously but I get tired of being associated with those that give us a bad name.

It's like looking for a job or picking up a girl,it's all about presentation and if you come across like a babbling idiot than chances are you will not be as successful than as if you know how to conduct yourself. Let's try to conduct ourselves in a more positive light.I know that there are many educated people in this group who are hiding in the shadows. Let's work together and try to advance and spread our word instead of setting ourselves back twenty years because some kids have access to mom and dad's computer and don't have anything better to do than try to act cool on here as they are getting high with their boys while skipping school.

Before we can educate others we first need to be educated ourselves. If we had people going door to door like some sort of Satanic Jehovah's Witness who do you think would be more likely to get people to listen- The long haired kid in the torn jeans and Cradle Of Filth t-shirt who smells of canabis and starts every sentence with "Hey man" or the man that knew how to present himself and knew what he was talking about?

While I do respect your opinion I regret to inform you that you are wrong about my beliefs. I have been involved with the left hand path for twenty years now. I agree that there are many level headed people in our midsts but they are the minority. I would say only maybe 10-20 percent are both level headed and serious and the rest our just jokers, dabblers and posers who are following this path for the wrong reason.

I am not trying to compare my religion to anything else but I am tired of being lumped in the same category as these ignorant kids whose stupidity reflects poorly on those of us that take this seriously.
