VOIP instead of cell phones

There has been a lot of talk recently about sharing phone numbers so that we can stay better connected and start becoming more of an actual community, however there have been several issues raised, such as cost and privacy, which make this a bit difficult.

I want to bring up the possibility of utilizing VOIP applications that would allow voice communication over the internet without the cost associated with phones. People from multiple countries can be talking to each other for hours on end with no cost at all. All you need is the software and speakers/mic or a headset with a microphone.

I have been using the software for years now for online gaming, but I think it would be a perfect solution for what people are wanting to do. To go even further, IF I GET THE INTEREST, and it actually gets USED - I would consider opening up the Ventrilo server that I pay for, for this and the adult group to use as an area for everyone to be able to communicate.

The software is a free download, with the only cost being incurred by the person who OWNS the server(me), and everyone else gets to use it for free. Once again, this can be used for INTERNATIONAL communication, completely free.

That's a great idea! Either Skype or Ventrilo, but if you already
have a Ventrilo server that'd be awesome! I've not used Ventrilo, but
I've heard of it. It's accessible for screen readers, which is a
requirement for me as I'm blind. Voice chatting with my
Brothers and Sisters in Satan would be so cool! Keep us posted, if

i do agree since i join the group i have learn so much and in the way i meet new brothers and sister you know how you are jeje and is been really good for support and friendship i live currently in mexico city and cancun quintana roo and some of my new friends live in guyana and the states i use to live in los angeles and i plan to get back soon i do support so we can all get connected via VOIP that will help us in to getting to know us each other and be able to help or assist in anything need it, thank you all for being there for me when i send a message asking for help in the studies

as a trained 9-1-1 emergency service communicator i wish to add that on a phone that is connected to the wall delivers 9-1-1 services with information to what is known as an MSAG screen, your phone number, address, and some times even your name comes up. it is possible to call the cops, not say anything and still receive help. but with internet biased phone lines, Voip (voice over internet protocol) its next to impossible to track and there is vary little operators can do in an dead air phone call. (of course this is in Canada)
just something you all might wish to consider before risking your safety with internet biased phone lines.

more related to the general topic, i personally don't like exchanging too much info in the groups since there are still infiltrators that collect this info in order to harass you (which has happen to me before).

your e-mail addresses practicality shows up almost every time you post any way and as far as i know yahoo is still free and you can communicated internationally as well, you can even communicate live threw messengers for hours and no one has to pay for it. how much more connected to you want to be?
