INTRODUCTION
Perhaps one of the most misunderstood, and misrepresented Ancient Kamitic Deities/Symbols is Ra (pronounced Rau or Raw). This symbol is misunderstood by most so-called scholars of Kamitic religion, both Black and White. The latter misunderstands because he is interpreting an Afrikan cosmology and worldview through European eyes, while the former is studying it from the same European worldview, and mode of scholarship. This worldview is extremely left-brained, extroverted, and physicalist oriented in nature. This being the case it is by nature incompetent, and inadequate to interpret an Afrikan worldview which is by nature right-brained, introverted, and spiritualist oriented. European eyes interpreting Afrikan Symbols, or any symbol, is problematic. Symbols are a representation for a reality, and are not the reality itself. For example, if you saw the word "car" written on a wall, and had never seen one for yourself, you could not say that you know what a car is in reality. Even if there was a definition following behind that word you would still not Know in reality what a car is. All you would have knowledge of is that word and definition. The word is a symbol standing in for the reality itself, but if you never experience the reality behind the word than you don't gain access to the true meaning of the word. All symbols, verbal (words) or visual (images) are representations of a deeper meaning, a reality contained within them, but are not the reality themselves. Symbols point you towards the reality they represent. Now understanding the nature of symbols, let's look at RA. So-called Egyptologist have declared to the world, and have many of us ignorantly following them, that Ra is the "sun god", because the symbol used for Ra (one of a few) is the sun-disk. But never did they take into consideration the Kamitic people's own description's of Ra in their scriptures nor the other symbols affiliated with Ra. What did they do? They went on further to interpret the symbol through their Caucasoid eyes, colored by their Caucasoid worldview. As a result Ra became the Sun, and the Ancient Kamitic people have been given the European stamp of being "sun worshipers" among other degrading titles. It is this same arrogant scholarship that lead to the claim Afrikan's are polytheist. We shall deal with all of these issues as we proceed.
"RETHINKING RA"
When we look at Ra, we don't want to make the same mistake of interpreting the symbolism, literally, and through the eyes of a physicalist. We want to look deeply into the nature of the symbol. Let's start with the most controversial, the sun. What is the sun? What is its function? What is our relationship with it? First of all, the sun just happens to be the greatest source of light/energy in our galaxy, without which life would not be possible. Energy, and light. Everything that exists, exists as a manifestation, a form of energy. Our bodies, the computer that I'm using to type this, the desk that its sitting on, everything around us when you break it all the way down to its fundamental components it's all energy; Molecules and atoms, particles and sub-atomic particles. This was deeply understood by the Ancient Kamitic people. Ra is not only the sun; Ra is everything that is made up of light and energy. In other words, Ra is EVERY-THING. This understanding is expressed through the writings of the Kamitic people themselves and not a European interpretation of the Symbol. Let us look at an excerpt from the THE BOOK OF KNOWING THE TRANSFORMATIONS OF RA AND OF THE OVERTHROWING OF APEP:
THE WORDS OF NEBERTCHER (LORD OF ALL) WHICH HE SPOKE AFTER COMING INTO BEING:
I am he who came into being in the form of the infinite power of manifestation (Khepera). I became the Creator of what came into being. After my coming into being many were the things coming forth from my mouth (words of power). Not existed heaven (Nut), not existed earth (Geb), and creeping things in that place. I raised them out of Nu, from the state of inactivity. Not found I a place to stand wherein. I was alone, for not had I spit out the form of Shu (the thermal yang principle of the world), not had I emitted Tefnut (the moisture, hydrogenoid, yin principle of the world) not existed another who worked with me. I made a foundation by means of my will, and laid a foundation in the law (Maa), and there came into being the multitude of things. I was alone. I became from GOD one, Gods three, that is from out of myself were raised up Shu and Tefnut. Nu (the unmanifested undifferentiated realm) Shu and Tefnut gave birth to Seb (Geb or earth), and Nut (heaven), Seb, and Nut gave birth to Ausar, Herukhent en Maati, Set, Auset, and Nebt-Het.
The above Kamitic scripture is a description of Ra's transformation during the process of creation. According to the above text, it is Ra that transforms into Nut (Heaven) and Geb (Earth), Shu (so-called air) and Tefnut (So-called water), and the multitude of things and entities that came into existence. All of these things are manifestations/transformations of Ra. Now let's ask ourselves this; does the SUN do these things? Does it transform into heaven and earth, air and water, me and you? No! However, energy and light does. The word/name for the actual sun in the Kamitic language is Aten. This word Aten, Egyptologist translate the "sun-disk", but just ask yourself "What the hell is that?" Also, the fact that Ra is not the sun is seen in the Hymn to Ausar in the so-called Egyptian book of the dead to " The rise of Ra's Aten (sun) at early sunrise" (*see Nuk Au Neter p.53, Egyptian book of the dead ch. clxxxiii). Another example is taken from the Sesh Am Duat which states "Praise be to Ra Thou art he whose forms are his own creations, and thou makest thy creations in thy sun(Aten)", clearly making the distinction between Ra and Aten (the sun). This understanding of Ra as spirit and Aten as the sun is the reason why Ankhenaten and Nefertiti (Who was not native to Kamit) were met with great hostility for attempting to implement Aten (sun) worship in Kamit and eradicate in the process the religion of the Kamitic ancestors.
RA AND QUANTUM PHYSICS
As stated previously, Ra is a symbolic representation of energy/light. After deep study and contemplation of Ra, one will gain tremendous insight in to the depth of scientific knowledge of the Ancient Kamitic sages. As shown in the Book of Knowing the Transformations of Ra, all physical phenomenon are manifestations or forms of Ra(energy). Physics bears witness to this truth. The fact that there is an eternal and subsisting energy that rests as the foundation of all life is evident in the Law of Conservation of Energy/Matter, which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can change its form; The total quantity of matter and energy available in the universe is a fixed amount and never any more or less. This means that Ra or energy is Eternal, the Alpha and Omega. Also, as it relates to "physical" phenomenon, all "physical entities" are nothing more than manifestations of light. It is because of the electrical charge (electron emitting light) of the atom that we are able to see "things". Just as interesting, it is because of this same electrical charge that we are able to feel and hold things. What we feel is the charge/vibration from the "object". It is this same charge/vibration that gives us the illusion of "solid things". In reality if there were no sound there would be no solidity or soundness. These principles of Quantum Physics and Quantum Mechanics also apply to our persons. Our persons are manifestations of energy and light, Ra. Light consist of a duality; one aspect particle (photon), the other aspect wave (sound). This means that all manifestations are nothing more than variations of light and sound. This knowledge will be pertinent when dealing with the Tree of Life. Every Neteru, deity, personality, archetype, and Angel, is nothing more than a specific and varying Angle of light. Also the Sound or wave aspect of light will give insight to the use of sound as the creative agent. In fact this will shed light on almost every scripture, in which creation takes place by way of the creative word (sound), as well as the use of Hekau (mantras), colors, and lights during meditation, for the light and sounds are the Neteru. Another interesting note is the Kamitic Concept of Amen Ra and what Quantum Physics refers to as Dark Matter. It has been established that Ra is energy. The Kamitic word Amen means "hidden". So Amen Ra is literally the Hidden life force or hidden spirit. This strikes a profound resemblance to Physics' Dark Matter. Dark Matter has been said to make up 90 percent of the universe. It does not give off any electromagnetic radiation (light), thus it impossible to detect directly, it is imperceptible (hidden). The detection of "dark matter" has to be made indirectly, through the observation of its gravitational effect. Because it has mass, "dark matter" can exert a gravitational pull on visible matter. According to this Smithsonian Review article:
"Today, we understand that what we normally think of as the 'galaxy' -- the pinwheel of stars -- is in fact only a part of the entire structure. It is surrounded by, and immersed in, a globe of unseen dark matter(dark energy)that makes up at least 90 percent of its mass. The real story of the Universe, it seems, is in its dark matter."
The fact that Dark Matter has no electrical charge makes it formless, intangible, and able to move through any medium undetected due to the fact that once again what we feel and see is the charge. Where there is no charge there is no visibility, and no solidness. Also as it relates to the Tree of Life, the sphere Amen, which is above the tree (0, Ain of the Kabalistic tree), is the source of all manifestation, and has a gravitational pull on the spheres of manifestation (1-10) back to its essence, to return to its nature (peace and no-thingness). Sphere's 1 through 10 (the Neteru) are the various angles through which 0, Amen's peace is attained. Is this a coincidence? I don't think so. Dark Matter is Amen Ra. (Amen means hidden or concealed. The sphere is 3 levels deep it is Ain, Soph, and Aur in the hebrew tree of life. In the kamitic tree and cosmology it corresponds to Atem or Atum, Nu and Ra...i.e. Consciousness, Dark Matter, and Dark Energy. This is the true meaning of the triple stages of darkness of judaism and Islam as well.)
RA IS SPIRIT
If you have been following along carefully it should be clear to you that we are dealing with a spiritual science. As in every science there must be a clearly established nomenclature. One of the major problems in spirituality is the imprecise usage of the language. If we say Ra is energy, then we are also saying Ra is Spirit. Spirit is the animating (animal) force, the life force. Etymologically speaking, the word spirit derives from the old French term espirit, which means "animating or vital principle in man and animals", which comes from the Latin spiritus meaning "soul, courage, vigor, breath," Which derives from the Greek spirare which means "to breathe". Taking the above into account grants us invaluable insight into the nature of spirit. As the animating or vital principle in man and animals, it is the life force (espirit). The life force manifests as soul (spiritus). Soul derives from the Old English term sawol, meaning "the emotional part of a person". E-motion literally means to move (motion) out (e). All of the above terms are related and find root in Spirare meaning to breathe or breath. So inherent here is a relationship between the life force, the emotions, and the breath. This is why when the life force is depleted there is a lack of motivation, or desire to move out, emotional instability etc. This is also why emotional instability, especially anger, and excitement, manifests in a change in breathing, and depletion in life force and health. So why does meditation work (rhetorical)? Because control of the breath is ultimately control of the life-force, which is control over the emotions. Meditation and deep-breathing exercises have been shown to increase the life force, improve health, stabilize the emotions, calm the mind, and increase intelligence. Look at the relationship between respiration and inspiration. If you need to be inspired, work on your breathing.
RA AND THE SERPENT
The other symbol for Ra that we will deal with is the one with the serpent above his head. The serpent has been used since the times of the ancients, as a symbol of life, transformation, wisdom, energy, and evil. In India it is the Naga, and Kundalini. In Kamit it is associated with Ra, Apep, and the Caduceus of Tehuti. All of these associations describe the nature of the spirit/life force. Ra is the Kundalini of the Dravidian/Hindu tradition, and the Chi of the Taoist. The serpent is associated with Ra for the way it resembles energy. It moves and flows similar to electricity, sounds like electricity, and its venom produces an electrical shock type of sensation. As Apep, it is associated with evil. This is due to the animalistic tendencies, of the animating force (life force), its relationship to the Serpent Brain (Brain Stem) which is the foundation of our brain, and the most primitive part of our brain. It is also responsible for involuntary behavior (primal instincts, and animation such as heart beat etc.) as well as respiration. It is also responsible for rage, fear, and basic survival fight or flight responses. It is the source of all animalism (evil) in man. It is the addict in man that inclines us to fulfill our base, low desires and urges. All addictions, bad habits, negative thoughts, toxins, diseases, etc., are stored in the Life force. This aspect of Ra must be "overthrown." This is why the book is called Knowing the Transformations of Ra and the Overthrowing Apep. Could this be why the Serpent is above Ra's head? Since it is necessary for life to exist, it is not inherently evil; it is only evil when it is in control. It must be controlled, cultivated, purified, mastered, and guided by the Self (Consciousness/will). There are a few stories in which Ra is oppressed by this Serpent. One such story is the one with Ra and Auset, in which Auset allows a Serpent to poison Ra in order to make Ra tell her his "secret" name. Interesting enough, it is Ra's secret name that is said to be invoked to overthrow Apep. We will get to that in a moment. The other association with the serpent comes with the Caduceus of Tehuti which has this as its symbol :
Its association with Tehuti (Wisdom) makes it the Serpents of wisdom (Khut). Khut has at the root of its name Khu which corresponds to the division of the spirit that houses Neter's omniscience/intuition. As it was with Apep, the life force is also the storehouse of all information, experiences, and knowledge. This also shows the relationship between Ra and Kundalini. The symbol has a staff representing the spine of man (Kundalini rest at the base of the spine), the twin serpents the duality or balance of the life force, ascending up the spine past the stem (serpent brain), with wings for transcendence, up into a circle representing the Pineal Gland (Third Eye), the Seat of Wisdom within the spirit. This transcendence takes place through the harmonization, and careful cultivation of the life force, and the upliftment and expansion of consciousness. Interesting to note, is the relationship between the chakras (Arits in the Kamitic tradition) and the color spectrum. Visible light manifest in seven colors each of which corresponds to the colors associated with the chakras. Just as white light shined through a prism will manifest these seven colors of the spectrum, Ra (light/spirit) manifests in man as the seven chakras in man, and also the seven major divisions of the spirit. Man's person is the prism of the Divine.
RA'S SECRET NAME: ANUK AUSAR
These are] the words of the god Neb-er-tcher, who said: "I am the creator of what hath come into being, and I myself came into being under the form of the god Khepera, and I came into being in primeval time. I came into being in the form of Khepera, and I am the creator of what did come into being, that is to say, I formed myself out of the primeval matter, and I made and formed myself out of the substance which existed in primeval time. My name is AUSARES (i.e., Osiris), who is the primeval matter of primeval matter.
As stated earlier, Ra states that his children shall invoke his "name" to overthrow apep (evil). This name is Ausar. This confusion will be cleared up once we understand that Ra is the Spirit, and not the Self (see my Anatomy of Being). However, The Self dwells within (secret) the Spirit. This is why within the atom of life is evidence of an Intelligence that operates with mathematical precision. Ironically, atheistic scientist in admitting this apparent intelligence, state that it(energy, atom) seems to be "Self-Guided". They are absolutely right, but so wrong. This Intelligence is The consciousness/will of the Supreme Being, and every being that exist. This consciousness is symbolized as the Neter Ausar, whose symbol is the All Seeing Eye. In the The Book of Knowing the Transformations of Ra and the Overthrowing of Apep, it is the name Ausar (Ausares) that will overthrow evil within man. The relationship between this "secret" name and the spirit (Ra) details the relationship between the Self (consciousness, Ausar) and the Spirit (energy, Ra). In the Legend of Ra and Auset, Ra states that invocation of his secret name will not only give one dominion and power to control him (Ra), but also power over all things (Heaven and Earth.). This speaks of the dominion of Consciousness over the spirit, as well as a hidden jewel within the name. The Kamitic language is a language of Hekau (words of power). This being so many of the words and names contain Hekau within them. With that said, within the name Ausar, is the Hekau Au, which is the primordial sound of creation. In the science of Mantra, Au is combined with what is called Nada Bindu (literally the sound of nothing) which becomes Aung (mistaken as AUM or OM, the Hekau of the universe. Invocation of this brings the unity of heaven and earth. Actually it is this Hekau the meaning of the Aunkh or Ankh. The Aunkh is not the word that means life, but is the sound of life itself. It is a combination of a symbol called shen, in the Kamitic language, which is a cipher O and symbol for eternity and heaven, and a vertical line l, which is a symbol for an object, thing, or that which is finite earth. The unity of the two symbols produces the Aunkh or Ankh, which is life, as the Unity of Nut and Geb (Heaven and Earth) give birth to Ausar. Raising the spirit to this vibration (Aung), and identification with the Self (Ausar), one will unite with heaven and earth, and gain mastery over life. Anuk Ausar! (I AM AUSAR)
CONCLUSION
This concludes the discourse on Ra. This pamphlet was not intended to be exhaustive, but to bring clarity to one of the most misunderstood symbols of our Ancestors. Included in this pamphlet is the Book of Knowing the Transformations of Ra and the Overthrowing of Apep in its entirety for your further study and reference. Hetepu!
THE BOOK OF KNOWING THE EVOLUTIONS 1 OF RA, AND OF OVERTHROWING APEP. [These are] the; words which the god Neb-er-tcher spake after he had, come into being:--"I am he who came into being in the form of the god Khepera, and I am the creator of that which came into being, that is to say, I am the creator of everything which came into being: now the things which I created, and which came forth out of my month after that I had come into being myself were exceedingly many. The sky (or heaven) had not come into being, the earth did not exist, and the children of the earth 2, and the creeping, things, had not been made at that time. I myself raised them up from out of Nu 3, from a state of helpless inertness. I found no place whereon I could stand. I worked a charm 4 upon my own heart (or, will), I laid the foundation [of things] by Maat, 5 and I made everything which had form. I was [then] one by myself, for I had not emitted from myself the god Shu, and I had not spit out from myself the goddess Tefnut; and there existed no

other who could work with me. I laid the foundations [of things] in my own heart, and there came into being multitudes of created things, which came into being from the created things which were born from the created things which arose from what they brought forth. I had union with my closed hand, and I embraced my shadow as a wife, and I poured seed into my own mouth, and I sent forth from myself issue in the form of the gods Shu and Tefnut. Saith my father Nu:--My Eye was covered up behind them (i.e., Shu. and Tefnut), but after two hen periods had passed from the time when they departed from me, from being one god I became three gods, and I came into being in the earth. Then Shu and Tefnut rejoiced from out of the inert watery mass wherein they I were, and they brought to me my Eye (i.e., the Sun). Now after these things I gathered together my members, and I wept over them, and men and women sprang into being from the tears which came forth from my Eye. And when my Eye came to me, and found that I had made another [Eye] in place where it was (i.e., the Moon), it was wroth with (or, raged at) me, whereupon I endowed it (i.e., the (second Eye) with [some of] the splendour which I had made for the first [Eye], and I made it to occupy its place in my Face, and henceforth

it ruled throughout all this earth.
When there fell on them their moment 1 through plant-like clouds, I restored what had been taken away from them, and I appeared from out of the plant-like clouds. I created creeping things of every kind, and everything which came into being from them. Shu and Tefnut brought forth [Seb and] Nut; and Seb and Nut brought forth Osiris, and Heru-khent-an-maati, 2 and Set, and Isis, and Nephthys 3 at one birth, one after the other, and they produced their multitudinous offspring in this earth."

[paragraph continues] I have done my will in everything in this earth. I have spread myself abroad therein, and I have made strong my hand. I was ONE by myself, for they (i.e., the gods) had not been brought forth, and I had emitted from myself neither Shu nor Tefnut. I brought my own name 1 into my mouth as a word of power, and I forthwith came into being under the form of things which are and under the form of Khepera. I came into being from out of primeval matter, and from the beginning I appeared under the form of the multitudinous things which exist; nothing whatsoever existed at that time in this earth, and it was I who made whatsoever was made. I was ONE: by myself, and there was no other being who worked with me in that place. I made all the things under the forms of which I appeared then by means of the Soul-God which I raised into firmness at that time from out of Nu, from a state of inactivity. I found no place whatsoever there whereon I could stand, I worked by the power of a spell by means of my heart, I laid a foundation [for things] before me, and whatsoever was made, I made. I was ONE by myself, and I laid the foundation of things [by means of] my heart, and I made the other things which came into being, and the things of Khepera which were made were manifold, and their offspring came into existence from the things to which they gave birth. emitted Shu, and I it was who emitted Tefnut, and from being the ONE, god (or, the only god) I became three gods; the two other gods who came into being on this earth sprang from me, and Shu and Tefnut rejoiced (or, were raised up) from out of Nu in which they were. Now behold, they brought my Eye to me after two hen periods since the time when they went forth from me. I gathered together my members (which had appeared in my own body, and afterwards I had union with my hand, and my heart (or, will) came unto me from out of my hand, and the seed fell into my mouth, and I emitted from myself the gods Shu and Tefnut, and so from being the ONE god (or, the only, god) I became three gods; thus the two other gods who came into being on this earth sprang from me, and Shu and Tefnut rejoiced (or, were raised up) from out of Nu in which they were. My father Nu saith:--They covered up (or, concealed) my Eye with the plant-like clouds which were behind them (i.e., Shu and Tefnut) for very many hen periods. Plants and creeping things [sprang up] from the god REM, through the tears which I let fall. I cried out to my Eye, and men and women came into existence. Then I bestowed upon my Eye the uraeus of fire, and it was wroth with me when another Eye (i.e., the Moon) came and grew up in its place; its vigorous power fell

on the plants, on the plants which I had placed there, and it set order among them, and it took up its place in my face, and it doth rule the whole earth. Then Shu and Tefnut brought forth Osiris, and Heru-khenti-an-maa, and Set, and Isis, and Nephthys and behold, they have produced offspring, and have created multitudinous children in this earth, by means of the beings which came into existence from the creatures which they produced. They invoke my name, and they overthrow their enemies, and they make words of power for the overthrowing of Apep, over whose hands and arms AKER keepeth ward. His hands and arms shall not exist, his feet and leas shall not exist, and he is chained in one place whilst Ra inflicts upon him the blows which are decreed for him. He is thrown upon his accursed back, his face is slit open by reason of the evil which he hath done, and he shall remain upon his accursed back."
