I am well aware of that. Fuck it I used to live in a place like that. What in fact I think in Michigan only Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Some of the Detroit Suburbs, and Sagatuck/Douglas/Traverse city are not like that, Marquette but they have their own culture apart from anything I have seen so it might take awhile to get used to it. Some of the small towns in Washtenaw/Lenewee country (example Tecumseh, I went to school in Tecumseh and there were several open Satanists, and other religions, and one of our classes had us do debates on that for fun once really only one fundy Christian that I saw and we always made fun of him. Chealsea, fuck it those are the only place I can think of other than Ann Arbor I stay away from Saline and Dexter cause those seem really hick and Saline especially from experience they really don't seem to like people from Ann Arbor at all, Ypsi is just as tolerant if not more than Ann Arbor, since the high prices of Ann Arbor forced some very cretive open minded people out of Ann Arbor, but its more ghetto.is very judgemental/Christian other than that all of them are still more chill and tolerant than the Grand Rapids area, or much of the western side of the state or the thumb area (whatever you do stay out of Port Urine if you can oh my god that seems to be the worst of all the places in Michigan). I do wish you luck. Ann Arbor is really the only place in the state other than Sagatuck/Douglas that thrives on being progressive/different and being tolerant of everyone. I was impressed by sagatuck too. A good vacation spot to get away from all the Bullshit if your not anywhere near Ann Arbor. The most actual southern style hick town in Michigan by the way that I have seen is Charlotte Mi.

That place is Ann Arbor Mi. (some of the smaller towns around here are laid back too and relatively tolerant) By the way I live alone and am open to the idea of a roommate whos Satanist (I am a male Single and 23 years old the neighborhood where I live is nice and I am next to two parks I wont be too specific since this is a public forum) there almost seems to be more non mainstream spiritual centers here than Churches, I saw one church was even turned into a yoga center. There are many events going on (just about every day some free) in the area (I have a couple magizines on them) that have to do with Chakras/meditation, paganism, and non maistream religion. Even the Christians from my personal experience and what I heard are like whatever, according to statistics only about 26% (pretty good statistic sadly since this is America) of the city is Christian and a lot of those are liberal new age type Christians. Its not that hard getting occult supplies/black candles (if you know where to look) and they even have the Satanic Bible in the library (not that thats real Satanism but still quite an accomplishment) I have no problem openly admitting I am a Satanist, I believe there are others here too but I haven't met any of them yet although I have seen Satanic symbols drawn and spray painted different places. I almost had the shock of my life when I saw a blue pentagram (relatively large) just like the on on the JOS website displayed in the window of the front door of an apartment complex also due to the fact that my dad was with me at the time (hes an xian pastor) LOL he saw the way I was looking at it and was like whats that. I just said its the symbol of one of the gods. Close to 80 percent or more of this town is liberal and open minded Plus it actually has a very positive vibe to it. Unlike a lot of places I have gone through. Nothing like the Bible Belt. You don't really hear of or see much of anything Christian here unless you actually go out looking for it and even then not likely in public, the only thing are those lunitic street preachers over by the college during the summer and even then most people laugh at and mock them, and you actually have to look around in most areas if you even want to see a church.
