Question #390: Hinduism?

I understand the JoS isn't a fan of Hinduism. With that said, I'm curious, if Hinduism is corrupted, why do their mantras always seem to work very well in contacting Gods like Lord Shiva? It seems like if that religion were corrupted their mantras wouldn't work.

Personally, I can not and will not dispute mantras since I do not know what mantras you are referring to. Some might be legit, others not so, that is for certain. The safety of said mantras is not to be taken lightly and is something that is judged aside from the "this works" layer. Something that eludes most people. When there is no foolproof and safe resource on the material realm for verifying something, it is best to consult the Gods or trusted and experienced people on the matter. Invoking something that is not fully understood can be dangerous at worst, and foolish at best.

But overall we must remember that even when something works and has portions of truth in it, it does not necessarily validate its whole existence. Remember, much of the info out there is systemically either destroyed or changed (corrupted) so as to hinder the spiritual advancement of people.
