Hello.

Seeing as I just joined this group a couple of minutes ago, I thought an introduction would perhaps be in place.
I am a female, 16 years old, born&living in the Netherlands.

Although my surroundings are mostly Christian, my parents are not (better said, one 'not really/atheist' and the other just clearly 'atheist') and they have never tried to force religion of any kind upon me. Both were, however, raised as Christians, and most of my family is. Unfortunately, this meant other people around me did/do try to force 'religion' upon me.

If asked about my religious beliefs, I usually claim 'Atheism', for that is/used to be most true, and causes me less problems than some other answers would. In the last weeks/months alone, people (usually different people, although some are really persistent) have tried to 'convert' me to either Christianity, Islam, or Bahai (or other crappy shit) more than thirty times. Can't they just fuck off?

But yeah, back to introduction. I have, although I went to a Catholic Primary School, never believed in the Christian God, Jesus/the Nazarene or the Bible.
So I claimed to be Atheist, and I used to be, for I saw no other options than that crap or Atheism. It is difficult to find information that's truthful when people want to keep you in the dark.

I felt there had to be more than the loneliness and emptiness Atheism meant for me - even though that still was better than the Christian crap my school and those people around me tried to feed me.

I onced strayed into Wicca, for it was claimed to be different than the Christian/Jewish/Muslim beliefs, yet after a little reading and my own experiences with it, I felt it was just as big a bunch of crap and lies.

Once again I fell into Atheism. Recently - the past couple of days - I started reading about Satanism. I had for a long time stayed away from any kind of religion, after the lessons my small steps into Wicca taught me.

Finally I dared to give it a try. I stumbled upon Joy of Satan and read much of the information I found there. It was as if a new world opened itself before me. I was interested. I was attracted. Finally. A religion that was not a bunch of lies.

I read most of the site, stumbled upon the link to this group and revived my old Yahoo ID just to join it.

So here I am.
I am sorry for my quite long post - I hope I won't scare all of you away or bore you to death with it - and I'm sorry for any mistakes I made in typing it, but since I am from the Netherlands, English is not my native tongue. I tried to keep errors as limited as possible.

I know I have much to learn, and I partially blame the Christians for that. I will try as best as I can, and hopefully I will be guided well.

We're glad to have you and don't worry about the length of your posts long well thought out posts are encouraged we want intellectual conversation and proper expression of ideals so don't worry your self.

Thank you both, Kreckian_lord and Ramses.
I am glad to hear there are groups out here (like this one) that are actually interested in and even encourage long, well thought out posts.
That are in fact interested in intelligent responses instead of the mutilations of the English language I sometimes encounter at other youth/teen groups.
I mean, what sense does it make to mutilate a language so much you are puzzling for half an hour to decypher a one-sentence post? But yeah.
Anyway, I'll say so again, thank you both for the warm and friendly welcome.

Its nothing your new to the community and of course i'd welcome you with open arms as for intellectually speaking and writing anyone whom hasn't the time or ability to think shouldn't be here anyways.
