Looking for info on how to break/undo a spell

So, an acquaintance of mine is suffering in a toxic relationship that he's tried to end several times but has never done successfully because of emotional attachment. The girl has apparently said several times that's she cast a love spell on him. After hearing his full story I took that to be serious, and I'm trying to design a working to dispel the magic and sever the connections between the two of them. I thought I would be able to adapt the banishing spell that's on the JOS site but that's very specifically geared toward negative energies and malevolent spirits. I could try it but I don't know if I want to risk this girl's safety on experimenting with the vibrations designed to destroy malevolent spirits. Does anyone have any advice on a working to dispel magic?
