I have an inqury

My givin name by my christian parents is Shayne which means "God is gracious". I am wondering if anyone knows a good way to make a new name for myself that doesn't revolve around this christian figure

Well, don't use 'Shayne'. As simple as that. Here, you can be know under the name chosen by YOU, yet as you become older - for I don't know how old you are - you can change your name to whatever you wish. I should hate my name, for it means 'the gift of god' but some web pages or books translate it as 'the gift of ihvh'. Well, my God is Satan. But anyway, I use 'Siguard' and this is the name under which I am known here.

To Siguarddraconis: just out of curiosity, hoping this is not disrespectful or prying; my middle name,Mathew, has that same greek definition, only mine has only one T in it. Was just wondering if it is indeed Matthew. I know this is not my business; was just wondering if you would happen to know if there is a different definition having only 1 T? Haha, you you're not in any way nosy or whatever Spelling differs across languages. Polish (my nationality): Mateusz, Greek: Matheo(I guess), German: Mathias, English: Matthew, etc.

Form what I know, this makes no difference - at least I haven't come across anything like this and I did look on many web pages in recent years (merely to check if there is a different origin of the name - different than hebrew).

Well, name;P I took 'Siguard' from The Norse Siguard, slayer of dragon Fafnir, who after slaying him, became like a dragon And I love/adore these marvellous, beautiful, wise, powerful, mighty, divine creatures.
