On a farm in central Minnesota you'll find a family devoted to each other and to God, but because one of the children has autism, the family has been told they cannot go to mass.

Carol Race's 13-year-old son, Adam, has autism. In his case, the disorder sometimes causes loud outbursts and violent behavior. Church leaders in Bertha, Minn. obtained a restraining order to ban the Race's from mass.

It was a move the church called a last resort.

Race said she cares for Adam night and day and she takes him to church every Sunday.

However, last Sunday at Saint Joseph Church was different. She got a ticket for going to mass on Mother's Day.

"It's a citation. They want me to appear in court on Monday morning," she said as she showed the ticket.

"That's what really shocks me, that this would come at this time," she remarked, explaining that her son has been making progress in mass -- standing up, kneeling and holding hands with his family.

However, the parish priest recalled "repeated disruptions in church" over the last three years, so he took out a restraining order to keep Adam and his family out.

"Nobody should be subjected to this behavior, but guess what this is reality. Autism is a reality," Race said.

Father Daniel Walz consulted a parish lawyer first before deciding to file for a restraining order on May 9.

In the petition, he wrote that Adam has "struck a child" in mass, that he "spits" and has "urinated" in Church. Furthermore, "it takes up to three adults to restrain him," and sometimes his behavior is so disruptive his parents "bind his feet and his hands."

The parish priest also wrote that "Adam's continued presence on parish grounds not only endangers the parishioners, it is disruptive to the devout celebration of the Eucharist."

Church leaders said they've exhausted all efforts to find a solution. They've suggested the family go to a different mass or sit somewhere else during mass, and they even suggested getting a mediator involved.

The family admits that they do have to restrain Adam sometimes, because he gets overwhelmed in mass, but they insist no one else is in danger.

"My husband, my self ... we'd protect anyone with our life before we'd let our son hurt anyone," Race said.

The restraining order is valid for two years, but it's not going to stop the Race family from going to church.

"We are obligated to go to every Sunday mass and every Holy Day of Obligation, and the Church teaches that it's a sin not to go to Church," she said.
They are such idiots why didn't god step in and take charge it is his church after all or mabey the church leader was told not to let her in blah blah blah sheep are stupid,

churches always try to do under hand shit like excommunicating people, because they can't have anyone go to church that doesn't fit their pretty little picture of an all american family. I remember back when I was being forced to go to church we had a transexual come to our church a few times and after she was baptised and stated "I'm so happy I have a place to come and worship where I'm not judged for my appearance" ....after that day I never saw the transexual again. I found out later from my mom that the church told her to stop going, but the open door kids are perfectly acceptable pawns.

I read another article similar to this one over a year ago. Christians are such hypocritical assholes. Fuckers are crazy as shit too. Often when I find news about some lunatic, the person is Christian. I remember reading an article about a Christian cutting off his arm and microwaving it. Another article about this guy trying to rob a gas station without a weapon, by the claim that he is "God." "God" stated that you are supposed to give "God" everything that he wants..."God"'s attempt at robbery obviously failed. Another article I read was about some Christians in a third world country? Can't remember where they were located. Anyways, the dumb fucks thought they could see Mary if they stared into the sun...Dumbfuckers stared into the sun until they went blind! Christianity is a disease.

Hey Wesley! I was diagnosed as autistic too during my early youth. My mom would bring me to church. She said I sometimes threw tantrums or fits. After she would quiet me down, someone would often come and give her shit about it. She never stopped going and bringing me though. She sounds a lot like the woman in the posted story and she seems just as brain dead too.

By the way, have you done any research on the link between autism and vaccines? Evidence would suggest that autism is toxin related. If you're interested, I highly encourage you to research it yourself. Knowing what I know now, I have strongly considered if I would allow my children to be exposed to vaccines. I almost get the impression that the current system of America is engineered to work against children through things such as poor public education and toxins in vaccines. It's a very sad thing indeed, is it not?
