Today there is a interesting and informative article on 'Yahoo Shopping' entitled: "Food Fraud in America, What are you really eating?".
It's a worthwile read.
HP Maxine's post on Chinese Food was right on target but it looks like it extends to all resturants and grocery purveyors.
Some resturants are serving 'pig anus' as calamari. I don't know anyone who wants to eat pig anus but people are being tricked into ordering it and eating it. Disgusting.
Another thing in the article was about honey sold in large and no so large grocery chains. It doesn't meet the standards of honey and really shouldn't be classified as such - it's a fake.
My father kept bees as a boy and sold honey and taught me about what good honey was. It contains pollen and other minerals - a whole food- not some filtered mixture of high frutose corn sugar and pawned off as honey. Here's a tip my Father showed me about honey: Turn the jar upside down and observe the bubble rising to the top 'the bubble test' - the slower the rise the better the honey, if it's natural, and the darker the honey the better the nutrition - usually.
Become Aware and Beware of what you eat.
Your life depends upon it.
Hail Satan
