First, search the mantras in ToZ and forums so that you can see whether they are mentioned or not. If not, look at the Sanskrit mantras on ToZ to understand them and try to correct the mantra. Always change OMs to AUM.

I believe the Hindu scriptures should be read but your reading should be in a Zevist perspective. If you are new and not able to understand whether an information is true or not, you may need to study the ToZ and meditate regularly before reading them.
