Longing for More: How Can I Enhance My Spiritual Journey?

I’ve started with the 40 day meditation program. I do the practices it lists in the morning and at night. I then read the JoS site and forums throughout the day which I’ve been doing for a bit prior to starting the program as well.

I feel that I want to do more towards my advancement and spiritual growth than I currently am. I’m not a busy person so I have a lot of time I could devote to practicing. Like hours of it each day.

I’m only on day 5 and I want to follow the program in order rather than skip ahead/around in it.

As for any stuff not listed in the program, I’d like to stick with fundamental and basic practices for now. I don’t care to jump ahead to things too advanced for me as I see that as a waste of time at the moment with my current skillset (or lackthereof).

My main questions are if I can do the morning/night practices more times in the day for extra practice with them or if there’s anything else that I can do that would still go hand in hand with the 40 day program or if I should add to it a bit while still following what’s listed?

I spend a lot of my time void meditating bc I enjoy the feeling of it though I’m still not perfect at it obviously. But it is one thing I’ve been doing prior to even knowing about JoS so it wasn’t too hard to get into that specific practice again.

I know this path can’t be rushed and I’m not asking for a way to speed up the process, I’m only asking if there’s more I as a beginner with hours of time could be doing?

Hope this all made sense. Thanks in advance

Hello,
As you said, stick with the basic meditations. You can follow the basic program, and if you want to add more, do a lot of yoga, trance meditations and breathing exercises. It is very good that you do a lot of void meditation, since it is a very key factor for our advancement.

Different from our mind and body, changes on the soul require time and patience. Patience and constancy.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there any specific trance meditations or breathing exercises you’d recommend?

So far I’ve been using the 666 one (inhale for count of 6, hold for 6, exhale for 6) as well as the complete yogic breath — Also I have trouble breathing deeply into my abdomen when I’m sitting or standing and only seem to be able to do it while laying down. Will it just take practice to do it sitting/standing/etc; is there a way to fix this?

And is there any time limitations or is it safe physically for me to be practicing for as long as I feel (I know the JoS site says to not overdo it on breathwork) but what about for trance and yoga at least? I like to listen to my body so when something feels off/wrong I take a break or stop but I mean whether I can do multiple times/repetitions throughout the day?

For trance meditation you can follow the one listed for the beginners in the dedicated section.

Here is the link: https://satanisgod.org/www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/Trance.html

For the breathing exercise you can do the one you said, even with 4 seconds if 6 are too much.
Be aware to not push yourself to much on breathing exercise: if you are becoming uncomfortable doing it, then stop and restart after some hours.

Better smaller and safer steps than longer and potentially dangerous.

As far as I know you can do as much trance training and yoga as you want. My suggestion, for trance, be sure to not hear/experience sudden and loud sounds, because if you are deep in trance, that can actually hurt you.

For yoga, always remember to lay down for 10/15 minutes after the session and feel the energy. This is the most important part.
