Dating: Reading someone's chart

I have been wondering in retrospect if dates have rejected me in the past because of how well and accurate I have been able to deeply read them in one go just looking at her chart. Some years ago someone told me I knew them better than even their own friends just by reading their chart for them online.

I don't tell them I'm SS just that I'm well versed in astrology. As a lot of people have curiosity on the topic alot of dates have been open and even wanting me to read their charts.

I have just wondered if how well I am able to is probly scaring some people off in the case they don't want to be read so well so fast or if any other SS has had this experience who is well versed in astrology.

Absolutely. I would be put off too. You wouldn't give your natal chart to just anybody.

Relationships are supposed to be built gradually and trust slowly built. If someone knows everything about you just after meeting you then that will leave you feeling violated and trigger feelings of insecurity. They know all your flaws and weaknesses and wounds just from your chart. There is no privacy. It raises alot of fears that ordinary people don't know how to deal with and have never been aware of.

IIRC, HPS Maxine Dietrich wrote a bit about the ethics of astrology, such as not telling people that they are in danger if this is seen in a transit, but instead telling them to be careful.

You can draw and read charts if you want, but you should not tell people things that they may not want to know. It should be approached in a more subtle way, if at all. Use the charts to help you understand someone and not to show them that you know everything about them from the getgo.

Wish I would be that good in astrology. lately I tried to read transits & use astrology for divination, as I feel it more important currently to be aware of upcoming bad transits. I'm a complete beginner in this though. Do you think I should advance more in reading a chart before transits, returns, etc..? I also don't understand a lot of things. Like what are "cusps"? or "Cups"??
Or when a planet transiting another planet, does this mean a given planet is on the same exact degree like the other planet, or aspecting it, like oppositing it also means transiting?

And where can I find information on aspects, like conjunctions, trine, etc.. and information on true node, Lilith, part/lot of fortune, and "cardinal, fixed, mutable, angular, succedent, cadent".

And what does it mean for example if part/lot of fortune is on the same degree, "lines up" with a planet.

and for example we have a sun/mercury aspect, how does it change if it's a trine or opposition?
I know what is an ascendant, but what is a descendant, medium coeli, imum coeli?
Like only if I would understand these.

Many people are not able to understand the background of this science because who we are and what is our destiny become a question of mathematical conditions. It offends the ego and call in question the notion of free will.

Personally, I need to use books to write a correct birth chart, it's tiring. People are happy, fascinate and become invasive. I no more speak about that.

If you are so talented, make them pay to create distance and forcing respect, else you become the center of fascination, passions... and some people falsely love you while others hate you because you have the ability to mysteriously penetrate their intimacy.

The ethics part I understand and have not told them anything negative or given bad predictions. The part about basically feeling neked too fast too soon makes sense.

During new years eve a girl actually hit on me. Of course she was a cancer (they swarm to like crazy. I'm just personally not compatible with them unless Jupiter or Venus is their only other cancer planet.) and I looked at her chart. I told her right off the bat that I could tell she wasn't monogamous and the fact that she had 3 planets in cancer alone was incompatible to me. Every single person I have ever met with 3 or more planets in cancer is toxic to me personally, although this would br different for someone else with s very different chart.

When I mentioned her Gemini Venus she confirmed her polygamous nature and the conversation was ended in 5 mins when I said we weren't compatible. In that moment I thanked the Gods for me learning astrology because this is one of many examples of where I have dodged a bullet just by seeing if someone was bad or good for me.

It might be better to just give superficial feedback from now on or just say nothing. At best maybe wait till they are comfortable with me. I don't like to waste my time on someone if they are not compatible to me so seeing their chart is a first go to these days.

You could read the chart and see if they are the kind of person who likes to be vary intimate with their partners or if they like space and then decide if you should engage in deep analysis of them or say little.

My first instinct is no it wouldn’t, it would actually be vary desirable to have a woman with cool abilities that understands you on a personal level, we all want to be understood.

If you have problems connecting to and keeping parters the last thing you would want to do is take interesting and fun things about yourself off the table and retreat into your shell.

For a little perspective, when I've read people's charts with them, I've stuck to the more superficial things unless relevance or relationship is already established and they consent. Luminaries like the Sun and Moon, along with Mercury are generally palatable to approach with people, and more generally, the houses/signs. Saturn and the outer planets, mostly not. Venus is a maybe, malefics like Mars probably shouldn't be gone into depth over unless they are receptive. I would focus on the positives and not things that are very personal or tender, unless they ask.

You have to use your judgement/empathy as to how much of an interpretation you give them. The goal shouldn't be to impress or convert people, in my opinion. You can also reciprocate with them by sharing details from your own chart to build rapport, or read the chart of their deceased loved one, to let them retain security/privacy/dignity regarding their own chart.

Remember that those who are without aren't aware or understanding of the spiritual realm and don't realize how much power there is just in astrology. This can be disturbing for some people to realize.

Joking aside, existentialcrisis has a point but that would apply only in "normal" circumstances and with nonSS people. If it were one of our own and on top of that if a good degree of compatibility exists then I see no reason why this would be a problem or intimidate the other side. Quite the contrary. Maybe not on the first date but exchanging that information to confirm compatibility would be only logical and advisable.

I'm still learning and have a long way to go in that domain so would you mind taking a peak at my chart when you have some time? Nothing too in depth, just a general overview that could maybe help me deal with certain issues more efficiently. I trust you even if we don't know each other because I've read a lot of what you've posted here and am pretty convinced in your trustworthiness plus I like your style. Reasonable and strict with the right dose of zeal.

I'm definitely not qualified to speak about relationships, having been in just a few and having made a mess more often than not but if someone has nothing to hide and is self-assured, they would not be put off by your power so those cases of rejection were probably an indication that it's the wrong kind of person for you. A more thorough analysis of possible reasons why it turned out that way might even show you some specific areas where you could improve or just confirm what is already known to you.

Like I said it wasn't the way I put it or lacking in consideration. It was always kept positive. But just the accuracy of things down to the last detail probly gave the impression of too close for comfort relating to " but what about my dark side then ect" and other things.

I do this too. It feels kind of cool being able to see through people, then on the other hand it feels like I'm preemptively gaming almost every single person who could be of influence toward me, and missing out on new experiences.

I definitely prefer it though. I prefer holding the cards.

Your (shadowcat) thing with the Cancer sun and Gemini venus I have also seen recently. It makes a lot of sense what you put about this type of person and I just completely detached and retracted all care from then on, of which I was already hesitant to begin with.

It feels like in life I'm just going to end up with only some kind of purely sexual associations with people where I never relinquish control, its kind of depressing.

Hello, I will actually have a few suggestions for you. 1. We need to equalize in this energetic sense, otherwise my head hurts, so looking at the map should be mutual, you need to pay a fee.
2. In an environment, you can say that when I look at someone's map, I see that person's weaknesses, I see his subconscious and you can intimidate the person by saying that if I knew the map of my enemies, I would know their weakest aspects.
3. You can say that reading a map energetically exhausts the person and you can excuse health problems by saying that I don't want to look at it because I have a headache.
4. And you can also say that I have to say the negatives and it can be really painful, when I look at someone's map I see their deepest pain and it makes me sad, I see a person's traumas. This is heavy for me, you can say that I feel like I am in those traumas.

I too advise against asking all birth data from people immediately. You don't need them anyway. Just knowing their birth date without time and location is fine. You can still do synastry with sufficient effectiveness to see what matters the most (i.e. Saturn aspects). Then, if you decided to go through with dating after this, you can always have the full chart later on before making a commitment.
