Why do we use the word "demon" to describe our gods?

I understand the horrendous bible describes our gods as demons and evil spirits, though why do satanist use the word demon to describe our gods when the current meaning, and the meaning forever, for the word demon has meant evil spirit. Since the angels of the bible are the true "demons" when taking into account the definition of the word meaning evil spirit, why do we call our gods demons?

With these being said, looking at the definitions, Satanic, and Demonic are two completely different things.

I always see people(including some christians) refer to greys as "Demons"... Even the government officials who were part of the ongoing underground war between these entities label them as demons..... But the demons WE know our are gods, though our gods are NOT the greys.

They are nordics, our creators, not evil spirits.

This definition of the word "Demon" is causing me a lot of confusion, as we acknowledge the demons are good, as our gods, while everyone else uses the word demon to describe any entity labeled as evil, entities that have nothing to do with our gods.

So can anyone enlighten me on which is the correct way to use it, or WHY we use the word demon to refer to our BENEVOLENT GOOD gods when the word demon means evil spirit to everyone else, literally, everyone else.

Please Help

This is again another stolen word, the word "Demon"/"Daemon" is greek and has a positive meaning:

"Daemon: "In Greek myth, an intermediate spirit between men and Gods. Daemons such as the one who guided Socrates act as councilors and guardians to human beings."

"Another definition from Encyclopædia Britannica, 1973 edition:
"A general Greek term for a supernatural power. As early as the Hesiod, the dead of the Golden Age became daemons, and later philosophical speculation envisaged these as lower than the Gods, but as superior to humanity. The Christians therefore attributed the actions of the Pagan Gods to daemons, identified as fallen angels."

http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... aemon.html

JUST because xianity stole this word and twisted it into something is not doesn't mean we shouldn't use it!!The same thing they've done with Hel(l) (look up norse mythology, it again has a positive meaning), Devi(l) (Sanskrit for the kundalini serpent) and many other things.

Remember, xianity has NOTHING of its own, it STOLE everything!!!!

Did you completely ignore my post? I am entirely aware of what the JoS site says about demons. I have no doubts about the human friendliness of the gods we call demons, but it is misnomer terminology to be calling them demons; This concerns me, being a person who seeks knowledge and truth.

Also incase you are unaware of the meaning of the word misnomer, since it is not often used, it means it is the wrong word to describe something, an incorrect or unsuitable name.

<td val[/IMG]I've often thought about this as well and I've decided using those xian names would be disrespectful considering they're the labels given to our gods by the enemy. So, I always referred to our gods as the Lords and Ladies. I know sounds stupid but it's better than anything else! I always refer to our creator god as Lord Enki as well. That and it helps me realize that our Satanism is not akin to the xian definition.
Just my opinion if it helps any!

If Im correct, the reason we use the term "demon" to describe our gods is because that's what they were origanally called. The reason the term "demon@ means "evil sprit" to others is because of the xians. They tried (and succeded, sadly) to make the term "demon" refer to evil spirits. It's like a stereotype really. I hope that clears everything up for you.

I asked Vine this same question, his reply was "Demons, ok?" so I guess this is a touchy subject for them. Mostly we call them Demons because well, its just easier I supposed. If we went around saying our gods are aliens then people simply would think its total bullshit and avoid us, if we say Demons, even if they believe them to be evil at least they know what we are talking about. I don't really know the real answer, I just know that Vine said to be called Demons

Ok guys if you have any problem with that, go ask the Demons. They don't mind that title, Satan doesn't mind being called Satan. Those titles were originally positive. The name Satan is Sanskrit, it has nothing to do with its xian definition.

It doesn't look as though anyone has ignored your post. In fact, I have seen almost nothing but helpful replies.

Kris was correct. Perhaps you should look over the JoS site again, since you are in pursuit of knowledge and truth. There IS a section that you must have missed that is FILLED with both knowledge and truth concerning this issue of the word "Demon" that perplexes you so much.

http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpent ... aemon.html

The "bible" is quite obviously incorrect, and is fictitious and completely plagiarized anyway. The only good use of the bible (aside from using it to start fires) is as a weapon against the people who actually believe in it.

This would be a prime example. This is a conversation that a Satanist should be having with a xian, not other Satanists.
As Satanists, we are privy to knowledge, because we are more inclined to do research ON OUR OWN in order to progress, and that is the goal and the gift of our Father. We take the knowledge we have acquired through diligent study, and we show the xian filth where their beliefs were stolen and corrupted from, and what words like "Demon" REALLY mean. We don't question whether the xian conception of the word is "correct" or not because we already know NOTHING in that book of excrement is.

We all know that Satan and our Demons love us, and we all know that these names have been tainted by the xian scum, as well as almost everything else worthwhile in life. We use them because they belong to US. BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF SATAN.

I do not mean to come off as arrogant or condescending, just trying to make a valid point. Posts like this just further prove that we need to be fighting xianity at every turn and opportunity. I say all of this because we need to be strong in his name and stronger in our service.

There are different levels of truth.  While it is good that information should be free to everyone, not everyone is ready for the truth.  You gotta use your intuition and know when someone is ready.  I can sense something greater coming in these next several years, and I don't base it off the current economic crisis.  I think that a lot of the ideas that have been surfacing have been merely to prepare humanity for a greater truth, because it is seems still a bit too early for them to comprehend it.

Some examples are the reported and increased sightings of extra terrestrial activity and spiritual experiences, and the changing of beliefs in the population.  You have said yourself what Vine said, and this is another testament to what I am talking about.

If it bothers you that much, in this case refer to them ad Daemons.  There is a greek definition for it, but I think that people use the names they can relate.  Keep in mind this is the "greek" version of the word; when you translate to another language it is called something else.  The only thing that changes when you keep using the same word is the meaning people want to attach to that word.  In this case christians want to belittle anything pagan, where as Satanists we accept what they originally meant.

I'm not bothered as much with the "use of words," because in the spiritual realm, knowledge is communicated differently in the form of "concepts" or "chunks of information."  When you say the word "demon" but mean what they really are as to their true nature, the demons/daemons/gods understand, because you are communicating to them in concepts or Energy transference(information chunks).  This is telepathy to the other guy who thinks telepathy has nothing to do with energy!

So in words for the layman, if your heart is true, then Satan and his demons will understand.  I have no hangups about calling this name or that name, because frankly I am already past that phase.
