I know that it contains spiritual teachings and that stories with hidden allegories are harder for the enemy to destroy but there must be more to it.
The Gods and animals are the protagonists most of the time, so maybe stories like this make us feel closer to them?
It's just like you've said, to keep the information alive. It's like stories passed down from generation to generation in symbology. Though yes, your suspicion is correct in that there is more to it. You see, the gods will always be part of our lives, even in symbology.
To have them directly involved in these stories in some way is to prevent us from forgetting about them. Deep in our soul we know what their names mean, what their names
are and what they represent. This holds in most of these stories in association to them so we keep tied in spiritual and psychic connection and bond when we remember and are told these stories with them as the characters.
Subconsciously we pick up on them and the truths. Outsiders to this day still believe there are other beings out there in the universe so incredibly strongly, despite the enemy having done their damnedest to keep such so incredibly hidden for thousands of years. Why do you think that is? Because deep down we can still spiritually sense and know things, even in such an atrophied and fallen state, we pick up on the truths around us.
Stories keep it more strongly alive. I have met some people who indulged greatly in things involving our gods, Sanskrit studies, Egypt and even going so far as to start meditating later on. How did they start?
"I liked the stories."
