After lots of study I have come to realize that the Sidereal zodiac system is much more accurate than the Tropical one. The details of how they differ is something to do with the degrees, this information I have just skimmed through and you can find the details of this by typing it into google.
I am still experimenting with this, and so far I find it more accurate in interpretation. To make this more clear, with the Tropical system you may have though you had your sun in Gemini for instance, but with using the Sidereal one you may find out that in actuality you have your Sun in Taurus. I do not suppose this might work with everyone, but it is worth giving it a try.
You can do this by using Astrodienst for your birth chart http://www.astro.com and then go to then find the extended chart selection option, then under options - next to zodiac- choose Fagan/Bradely Geocentric (Sidereal) and see if the difference makes any sense to you.

Hm... Well, all my Leo's were transformed to Cancer and I'm not so happy about that haha :pTo be honest, Leo expresses me much better than Cancer in the planets that correspond to it.
Also, about Pluto... Pluto is defined by years in http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/PLUTO.html so isn't it too much of a difference? :O

You need to be sure of the birth time first, since the correct birth time is the first breath you ever took in this incarnation. the ones people have in mind tend to almost always be wrong. The ascendant changes every couple of hours or so and is the most important element of a birth chart and lays the basic foundation of a chart.
I have been studying Vedic Astrology in depth and the planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are not used since the founders of the science depended on using the planets that can only be seen with the Naked eye, although evidence does show that at the same time they were aware of the existence of such planets. The Lunar Nodes known as Rahu and Ketu are used instead which have similar qualities to the extra Saturnian Planets.
I wrote this during a period when I was still finding out about Vedic Astrology. What I have realized since then is that you can't combine the two together, that is, you can either follow Western Astrology or Eastern, but not both. I personally find Vedic Astrology to have more depth and accuracy than Western.
As for rectifying your birth time as per Western Astrology these videos can be informative, they depend on the use of Solar Arcs.
