Alright, so from what I've gathered during a lot of posts on all of our e-groups, it's that most of you have had a little bit of difficulty with the much talked about 'Void Meditation'. Some might say that void meditation is probably the most simple when put in comparison to many of the others listed on the JoS, however I'd just like to enlighten you beginners that this is not the case...for some of us, we may find it to be the most difficult.
Truly however, it is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it, but the fact is that I myself went about it the wrong way for almost a full year of my life, and I don't want to see any of my brothers having to deal with this major setbacks...a year may not seem like a long time to gods, but we are not there yet, we are still mortals and since we are preparing for war we must make every second count.
Before I begin, I'd like to explain the main reason that some of us might actually have difficulty quieting our minds for any given period of time...and it's because most of us have grown up without the proper discipline that we have needed all of our lives. A lot of you have trained in things like martial arts, yoga and the like may find these exercises to be a lot simpler than one who hasn't. Most of us enjoy watching television, playing video games, listening to music, and this is all perfectly fine (Coming from a consistent video game player)...however too much of this with little to no meditation will leave our thoughts scattered and unfocussed; we need to take a certain period of time out of each day (ideally 15-30 minutes at the very least) so that we can keep in tune with our minds and focus are desires like a laser...
The average person has their thoughts scattered and find almost every little thing to be distracting, and because of this we may find ourselves becoming upset with ourselves because we just can't seem to focus...I've been frustrated with myself before because even when I really wanted to just sit in quietude and focus I would remember something silly, or have a song repetedly play over and over in my head.
So how do we fix this? On the JoS Maxine tells us that in order to be competent in Void Meditation would should be able to focus in quietude for at least 5 minutes...but 5 minutes can seem like a bit much for someone who has trouble focussing for even 30 seconds, right? Here is the solution I came up with, and for those of you who have trouble I recommend you give this tactic a try, it's really quite helpful.
The average person needs to take things at a slow pace when learning new things, this idea came to me one day during my phys ed class when we were playing Lacrosse. It was our first time playing and we were constantly trying to toss the ball back and forth as far as we could across the field and catch them in our sticks...needless to say, we found it rather difficult and would rarely end up with any success. After our warm-up however, my teacher explained to us that he noticed us doing this and that we were going about it the wrong way...he told us we cannot start by throwing it as far as we can, and that we must throw the ball back and forth from short distances until we get the hang of catching them in our stick, and then we can increase the distances apart...'This Is When It Hit Me'
I thought about how I would constantly spend large amounts of time like 30 minutes in quietude just trying to focus, and how thoughts would repeatedly enter my mind...and I realised it was because I was setting myself up WAY TOO HIGH. It was by this point that I realised the easiest way to do it was to focus on short amounts of time (as short as 10 seconds even) and then work my way up to things like 30 seconds, then 40, and so on and so forth.
From trying this tactic, I found that it was just as I suspected and it worked 'incredibly' well! This is how the average person learns things and now that I realise how simple it all was I feel really stupid for not coming to this conclusion before.
In any case, let me just sum it up for you, this goes for void meditation with both eyes open and eyes closed, as found here:

Maxine says five minutes is fine for beginners, but the five minutes should be worked up to! Even for beginners this exercise still needs to be learned properly!
- Sit quietly, start with any breathing exercises that you would normally use for meditation (I really recommend them for those of you who don't use them, you might not think they help but I've done meditation with and without them and it is ALWAYS more effective)
- Quiet your mind for 10 seconds (That's right, just ten)
- Once you have done this, relax for a few moments and then quiet your mind for 10 seconds once again.
- Now relax for yet another time, and instead of 10, try to now quiet your mind for 20 seconds.
- Repeat this until you can make it to 20, then move onto 30, then 40, then 50 until you can finally make it to one minute.
- That's it! You should be able to make it up to a minute during your first days, but if you can only make it up to about 30 seconds, this is fine; the point is to just increase the time by a little bit each day if you can and NOT to aim for major amounts of time like 5 to 10 minutes...they may not seem long, but for people who have no experience with focus (That's most people on the fucking planet by the way...courtesty of the filthy kikes and their white sheep) this can seem like an eternity.
There is no point in pissing yourself off with trying to do everything at once, you'll only end up discouraging yourself and this will turn you away from void meditation very quickly...take your time, even if it is only a mere 10 seconds, with training the experience WILL come to you. That I can promise.
