If you've read it then i'll try to explain how i understand it
First of all our body has two parts the physical body... and the soul... the chakras are parts of the soul body. The two bodies are overlapping. To understand this... it is like the mattress on a bed... and the sheets of the bed. They are both part of the bed. The mattress is the soul... and the sheets are the physical body. You can change the physical body (the sheets of the bed) many times through life times... but the soul will remain the same (like the mattress of the bed)... and they are always at the same place... overlapping one body over another.
Keep in mind that i'm trying to simplify some things in order to make the subject easier to understand.
To understand the chakras imagine a computer... it has many parts in it but in order for everything to work it needs electricity... well... in the same way our physical body has many parts (mind, heart, liver, lungs) and soul body has the chakras which are the source of energy for the physical body
Of course our bodies are more complex than a computer... so the 7 main chakras on our body provide or produce a different kind of energy (or electricity if you like) for our bodies
Have you ever noticed when you have done intense exercise that you can feel your heartbeat in parts of your body (like your hands or your feet)... like a pulsating buzz... well this is the energy!

the easiest to locate is the base chakra... that is located between the anus and the genitals... you can touch this area but keep in mind that you're touching the physical body... you have to imagine the chakra on the soul body.
