I want to share something I do and has really saved me in times of severe attack.

I smile. So, try to focus and give your widest smile to yourself. Hold it for 10 seconds or more.

What this does, is that we manually force the brain to release dopamine, serotonin and endorphines. In other words, we force our mood to change for the better. Dopamine can help in decision making, so this will also help you take action for this. Serotonin helps improve our mood, endorphines stop the pain. All of this together makes us able at that moment to think more clearly and to be able to come out of the attack, clean ourselves, protect ourselves and fight back. This can also work when we experience anxiety or sadness. It boosts us for a short time.
It works for me and I hope it works for others too.

More than smiling maybe it's thinking about nice and positive things for you that make you happy, although in situations like this you have to be strong and face the problem.
If it works for you, it's fine.

Well not everyone experience the same attacks, nor with the same intensity nor frequency. This has to do with our chart plus our awareness I guess. Noone has to experience something the same way as others, nor behave the same.
I use this when the attack is very annoying to the point of not letting you think clearly, that your mind is blur etc. At those moments it is sometimes even difficult to think of the basics like cleaning, attacking. So I've found that this can work more easily in order to be able to fight it.

Boby language and mood are highly linked. Smiling is a response of our feelings at that moment and at that moment our brain releases hormones that make us feel good. Stimulus - response. When we force ourselves to smile for some seconds, we reverse this process. We start from the response and as a result the brain has linked the smile with releasing specific chemicals. Smiling on purpose can change the brain chemistry for a short time. So we force the brain to make us feel better.
