Yahoogroups forum is changing. The process has already begun, but it does
not appear to have affect JOS yet.

It will be a Facebook like clone. You will only be able to access like the
last 8 or so messages.

You will no longer be able to use many of the features we now know, but the
most important of these is moderation.

Now for some groups this wont matter, for us it is crucial. Christian drivel
will find its way in, and because of the changes as they are now planned and
have already been implemented in some groups, we will not be able to
moderate posts to keep this a safe haven for Satanists.

It may be necessary for us to find a different hosting solution.

I am switching to Proboards for my own groups. But perhaps someone could
even program a form for this group. I don't know enough about programming to
do it, or I would offer to do it in a heartbeat.

But if you haven't already been told, you need to know about these changes
so you can take appropriate actions.

Hail Father Satan!! i read about this somewhere, where this is one of the first steps that these jew bastards are going to try to control the internet as well.

Wow, that does not bode well for us. I personally like the way things are currently and would hate for them to change. It makes it easy for me to keep up with everything as well as see what news fellow Brothers and Sisters are posting about.

Is there even something else out there that would act in the same manner?

With my on-again-off-again Internet woes, I don't like the idea of only being able to access the latest 8 messages, to say nothing of the moderation issue. I hope this doesn't happen.

I found this, maybe this is what started the whole conversation. From what I read it sounds like it will be ok. Besides the longer we can hold out the better, then the groups will be ok. They are saying they will fix this issue of posting problems. Although, I just woke up, so maybe I missed something.   http://www.ygroupsblog.com/

Hi,
I guess I should first introduce myself- I've had some events in my life over the last year that led me here a couple of days ago. I haven't dedicated or anything- just kinda absorbing right now. So I'm somewhat of a lurker- sorry.

But- the group list deal- I belong to another group that uses http://apple.ease.lsoft.com You can access messages years later- has a decent search field. Works well and would work just fine for this. The group I am in is public and listed but I saw on the main page that there is the possibility for unlisted groups. Likely would have to have a covert type name- PinkBunny group or some such but hey, what the heck. The service is great and from what I understand from other list moderators I think it is free.

So- if yahoo really does change the groups possibly one of this lists administrators should look into apple.ease.
