It should also be noted that Claudius Ptolemy, the one who founded the Tropical Zodiac and Placidus house system (which is used by everyone today in the West) was actually an Astronomer and Mathematician, he was not an Astrologer by profession.

Whole Sign House System*

I am saying the following from what I have realized through direct experience, you do not have to follow it.
I have recently been guided to study predictive Astrology, and in order to make accurate predictions you need to use accurate means and methods for it.
Now let me tell you this. Mainstream Astrology is full of crap. The whole Tropical Zodiac and Placidus house system has not worked for me at all, I found it to be entirely false to say the least.
To clarify this, the Tropical Zodiac was founded by Ptolemy who was Greek, and it is based on using the Celestial Equator, and since the earth isn't straight and it is tilted, using the celestial equator for predictions and/or for studying your own birth chart is really misleading, since it isn't aligned with the actual constellations. It is something like a time calander, and is not related in anyway with the tilt of the planet and the planet's real relation with the stars. Sad, but true.
This is the same thing with the Placidus House System, which was also founded by Ptolemy around 2000 BC (not entirely sure about the time, but nevertheless).
The Sidereal Zodiac, which is what the ancients used and also what is used in Vedic Astrology, is based upon the actual tilt of the Earth's axis in relation with the actual constellations in the sky. So if you were using the Tropical Zodiac for interpreting your birth signs, I am sorry to say that the actual relationship between the Earth's axis and the stars makes the whole zodiac shift 24 Degrees. Which means that if you thought you were a Taurus, in reality because of the 24 degree shift, you are an Aries, and so on.
The ancients used the Whole Sign system, which is very simple and orignal, and with the whole house system each constellation is designated a house. So let's say your rising sign is Pisces, then your whole first house is in Pisces, and each constellation after that takes a house on its own. Simple.
These are also the methods of interpretation and prediction used in Vedic Astrology, which is mind boggingly accurate since they haven't altered their systems since the ancient times.
I have written a post here on how to find out your Sidereal Signs, so refer to it if you wish to do so.
And with that said I am not proselytising, simply stating facts.

As another means for proof, let us take Adolf Hitler for example.
His Sidereal Birth Signs are:- Sun in Aries- Moon in Saggitarius- Mercury in Aries- Venus in Aries- Mars in Aries (Home Sign)- Jupiter in Saggitarius (Home Sign)- Saturn in Cancer- Ascendant in Libra
Mostly Fire Cardinal Signs, Leadership.
All his personal planets (According to Sidereal/whole sign) excluding the Moon and Jupiter are in the 7th house. The 7th house is the house of the masses, there is a strong Cardinal emphasis in his chart as while as a northern hemisphere emphasis, which simply makes him a 'leader of the masses'.
His Saturn is in the tenth house, Saturn represents Structure and Responsibility, put that in the tenth house (The MC) and it all falls into place, this is Adolf Hitler's REAL chart
Now take a look at his Tropical/Placidus Signs and compare them to what I have just stated:- Sun in Taurus- Moon in Capricorn- Mercury in Aries- Venus in Taurus- Mars in Taurus- Jupiter in Capricorn- Saturn in Leo
With not as much emphasis on Cardinal signs as with the Sidereal.
Hail Satan!!!!

Also something else that is quite important, this can affect planetary squares workings as well.
Obviously if you want to follow the Tropical transits of the planets for your workings it is up to you, but I find that it can cause a great difference if you use the sidereal zodiac since it tells what planets are in what constellations (Zodiac Signs) physically.
Since the vibrations are in Sanskrit which is Eastern, and since vedic astrology (Eastern) uses the Sidereal Zodiac (the actual constellations) then in my opinion it would make more sense to follow what planets are in what signs Sidereally
This is the current planetary Sidereal placements:- Sun is in Taurus- Moon is in Pisces- Mercury is in Gemini- Venus is in Aries- Mars is in Virgo- Jupiter is in Gemini- Saturn is in Libra
Now for future reference, if you guys wish to follow the Sidereal Zodiac for your workings, Astro.com is good for this, simply go to the Extended chart selection, then under options and next to zodiac choose 'Hindu/Lahiri Sidereal' or if you are very anti-vedic choose 'Fagan/Bradley Sidereal'. After this select 'Natal chart and Transits' and the green planets skirting around your natal chart are the transiting planets, and you can determine in what sign they are in currently from this.
Also for birth chart interpretation, I personally find that the Sidereal with the 'Placidus' house system doesn't really work, it would not hurt to try using the 'whole sign' house system which designates each Zodiac a house on it's own (it makes more sense to me, simple and straightforward) and the Cross of Matter points are used as horary points, like the vertex. This is what is used in Vedic Astrology, and since the Vedic system has not been altered since the foundation of it in the East, I trust it more than the western system, since the modernized Western Astrology System has been altered from the Babylonian. Ptolemy fucked it up.

You can use astro.com to find out what your Sidereal birth chart is following the same instructions I wrote above but instead choose 'Natal Birth Chart'. Astro.com is very dependable.
In terms of interpreting your Sidereal Birth Chart, it's pretty much the same thing. So let's say Sidereally your Sun is in Pisces rather than Aries, then you can look up online for 'Natal Sun in Pisces interpretation', or if you'd like 'Sidereal Sun in Pisces'.
Also whichever Zodiac system you use the natal planetary aspects remain the same.
