I don't know if mine worked i had a lamp thing that has a light bulb and a bowl on top where the wax goes but it was blue and it was on the whole time also i wrote the prayer down ahead of time then when i was ready and the wax was on and heated i took a shower read the prayer drew blood from my finger with a safety pin signed my name and put the paper folded in a glass jar to burn then said the final words and threw the ashes in the wind the next day so did i do it right?

Are you talking about the dedication ritual ? If that's what you did, then yes, it was valid.
Do power meditation and open and empower your minor chakras on your face and head (for astral hearing and sight) to hear and see the Gods when They do speak or appear to you, you will hear and /or see Them.
