Hi all. I have been doing research into the different types of Satanism, as I would like to become a Satanist. I found your website whilst researching Satanic rituals. I am definitely more inclined towards Spiritual Satanism, as I do believe that Satan and his Demons are real beings. I came across your ritual for Dedicating your soul to Satan and read the FAQ as well. What do I do if I am unable to find the correct color candles? There was 1 place in my area that sold the right color candles, but they closed down a while back. The only color candles I'm able to find is white. 1 of the main things that deterred me from Satanism was the possibility of animal sacrifice, as I love animals dearly and have animals of my own. But after researching, I found that this was not something that I would have to do, unless I chose to. Something that does worry me, and this may sound stupid, is how my animals will react to any spiritual presences I invite in. I know animals are very attuned to spiritual/paranormal activity, and I'm worried that they will react negatively. 1 other thing I would like to know is if the Satanic Statements, Rules and Sins apply to all types of Satanism or only La Vey Satanism? Can anyone shed any light on these issues for me? I would really appreciate it.

Where you got from that that there's a possibility of animal sacrifice? It says the exact opposite thing, that this sort of thing is christian/jewish and an abomination to Satan and the Gods as they love animals. If you look at the updates page, there's a group about the discussion of animal rights and pets, since animals happen to be sacred to Satan and the Gods:

All animals (maybe except pests for obvious reasons) are sacred to the Gods and anyone who harms them without a good reason (like for food or self defense) invites their anger.

Use whatever you have. The material props are not much necessary as your mind power and honesty. And rituals are not necessary. The important thing is to develop your soul with power meditation every day. Satanism is about empowering and trasforming your soul.

To add something here, you need to completely forget what you've learned from other sources outside JoS. In most cases is based on enemy lies and is disrespectful. From your post it seems you let some of the enemy lies get in their way. Click the delete button of your mind and read the JoS site as if you never knew or seen anywhere else about Satanism before. Read it as if it's something completely new and not related to anything else. Only then you'll understand.

you shouldn't sacrifice animals at all, they are sacred to satan.
also i'm pretty sure the candle color doesn't matter as long as your intentions are true. satan will understand
i was lucky enough to have found a black candle inside a hallmark store at the mall the day of my dedication (may 3rd)
i don't have any pets of my own but if they should react negatively then this might be a sign of a negative spirit/entity. i don't think they would react negatively towards satan and other gods.
and lastly, i don't know anything on la vey satanism, maybe someone else can help with that :/

if you have a black ink then melt the white candle, add the ink, mix it, put the rope thingie, and let it cool down. dont put in too much ink, if u do it will not be a candle. dont put too little coz it will become grey, better have a white candle than grey, but putting too little is no problem as u can melt it back and add more.

I guess the whole thing about the animal sacrifice is just the result of media BS and the stigma attached to Satanism. That was why I started researching the subject. Some websites claim that blood sacrifice enhances the power of magic, and that didn't sit well with me. I will study the JoS website more carefully. Thanks for all the links.

Just to clarify something about using your blood in magick: Blood sacrifice is bad in magick because it's vampiric and usually work against you. You're using then energy of another being not yours. You probably have read that from Crowley books, because Crowley said that about sacrifices.
However, using your own blood is a totally different matter. Using a bit of your blood and annointing sigils in heavy rituals, either white magick or black magick can add a very powerful effect. It's totally optional to use any blood (except for the dedication ritual, in which the blood signature has other significance, it's used because it's your DNA and your real signature) but if we do use any blood to enhance workings, we use our own blood and not anyone else's. Again using your own blood to annoint sigils, talismans or anything else is not a "sacrifice".

If you want to use your own blood, I read that using diabetic lancets (you can get them from a pharmacy) is much safer and hygienic. When you're done just bring it back to the pharmacy to be safely disposed of.This is just a suggestion, though. Personally, I just sanitize a sewing needle in rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer in a clean tissue, then poke my index finger several times. Then I squeeze the pad of the finger and the blood comes up. This is often enough for a drop or two on the paper of the prayer or sigil I am using.

There appears to be a lot of activity lately, so I might as well try to ask for help again.
I have tried on multiple occasions to get help with this problem, and I have yet to get any results from asking in the forums so far. I have been dedicated for almost exactly two years. (I dedicated on Samhain both intentionally and unintentionally.) In my earlier days, I felt I was strongest spiritually in my third eye. I used to get amazing results from any meditations involving it. Since around January, I have had persistent trouble involving my third eye. Before, I used to get a sort of pressure, as described on the website. Now, I get no feeling, and no apparent results in anything involving it. Since then, I have gone through cycles of trying to understand and fix the problem, but I never figure anything out. The entire experience has left me demoralized, and I don't know where to go from here. Just before I wrote this email, I read up on many of the recent posts and I feel like I am not doing my part. I ask for advice on the matter. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this problem?

Not sure how helpful this will be. However, I think you are worrying too much about it. I don't always feel pressure in my third eye anymore. Could
be you are sufficiently open enough now that you are not going to feel that pressure. If you have been a Satanist for two years, you should be pretty
open by now. I am thinking that other things are getting in your way. Worry, for one. There could be a number of factors involved. Depends on what
kind of work you are doing. Remember, depending on what you are doing, there could be opposing forces out there working against you. But do not
let this discourage you. I have, more than once, become really down about some things, but I know Father Satan is there for me. He is there for all of us. Just work on increasing your power, and don't worry so much about feeling pressure in your third eye. Study. Meditate. And trust that Father Satan knows you are doing your best.
