Question about Mars

Hello, brothers and sisters. I want to strengthen my Mars, but realize I can't do a Mars Square until July 2014 as it is currently in Libra. I have a weak natal Mars, 9° of Pisces 7th house, a degree of abuse, and this often causes me to fail to stand up for myself when I really should have and I'm sick of it happening so naturally. It makes me feel like a doormat, and in hindsight I always get angry at myself for not having the presence of mind to be assertive. Trouble is, I can't find any planetary correspondences for the runes on the JoS site, so I don't know what I can vibrate to correct this Mars aspect. The answer might be right in my face, but does anyone know of a way outside of a planetary square that I can bring stronger Mars energy into myself? I really don't want to have to wait until halfway through next year to work on it :/ -HAIL SATAN-

Hi! If I were you, I would work with the Fire element. Fire and Mars have similar characteristics and they are connected in an interesting way.

Fire is aggressive, bold, confident, driven, fearless,expressive and and outgoing etc.

Invoke Fire for a few or more breaths but be careful and have a steady pace. It will help you immensely when done everyday. You will feel the balance returning on a soul level and your personal "Firey spirit" coming out. I speak from experience. Be
consistent.

When breathing and invoking it into your being and soul just know that it is changing and empowering your self.

You can do the Mars Square any time, as long as it's not in the signs that is written that it should NOT be done. (it will not be as powerful as it will be if you do it when it is advised, but it will still have some strength, so if you really want to empower your Mars, then I suggest you not just expect for the perfect time)

Hey tell me how it goes with the Mars square. I've heard these squares have some side effects, such as Jupiter/Venus being lazy and indulgent, etc.

Does the Mars square have any side effect?

I need to know in advance so I can change my routines, do precautions, etc. I suspect it will give me skin problems...

All the planets can have both negative and positive effects. This just depends on when and how they are used. Of course the first think to take note of is timing with the planets. Doing a working whilst its at it's hight is great for positive effects, whilst using it in its detriment is great for negative effects (ie black magick against someone with that planet in their chart).

The point of the squares is to negate the Planetary energies within the soul, as well as boost them, when using them in a Spiritual sence. For a physical sence, the working goes as you make it, so is dependant on your goals and affirmations. Obviously, this is best done when it is in its hight, and it will have negative effects or simply no effects if you're attempting this in its detriment.

So again, its dependant on how you use the square. Your intentions and affirmations, as well as the time you do it.

A Jupiter square can manifest in your getting fat--obesity is one of the diseases, and weight gain one of the manifestations. Doing a Mars square can offset this, giving you a higher metabolism. You could do a spiritual Mars square, or a physical one with the affirmation that your metabolism is increasing rapidly, bringing your physical health to perfection and giving you plenty of energy. You could also do Sun squares for this. I wouldn't worry too much about the indulgence part, though being lazy is a symptom of not enough energy and a Sun or Mars square could balance things out. Or, you could do a Moon square--those are so long, and you will be spending close to 70 minutes on it one day and that could clear laziness.
One thing to be wary of is Saturn squares. Yes, those things will help with laziness and indulgence. It can also make things more difficult for you, make poverty and stagnation manifest, fuck with your romance, trash your health, and ruin your relationship with the world. You really need to be careful with a Saturn square, unless you are adept at using it in black magick against an enemy. A Sun square or Mars square will usually be plenty.
