Hello. I studied my natal chart against recently and found out that Retrograde Neptune is in my first house. This is the effect it has when in the first house:

"Neptune's influence often makes one weak, unreliable, prone to drug/alcohol abuse, and extreme cases, there can be mental illness or other aberrations. This is amplified especially if Neptune is on a bad degree. Those with this placement are ultra sensitive, highly impressionable, and gullible, with a tendency to drift aimlessly through life."

Anything I can do to minimize the negative effects Neptune has on me? I believe it is 23 degrees of Capricorn.

Which would also make Saturn my Chart Ruler since Capricorn is on the Acendant.

My Neptune placement is very similar to yours.

When Neptune is retrograde in your natal chart, its energy is turned inward, causing you to introspect and delve deeply into your subconscious mind. You may have a natural inclination towards introspection, meditation, and spiritual practices, and this retrograde motion can enhance those tendencies further.

However, retrograde Neptune in the first house can also bring confusion, uncertainty, and a lack of clarity to your sense of identity and self-image. You may struggle to express yourself clearly, and others may find it hard to understand you or see you for who you truly are.

On the positive side, retrograde Neptune in the first house can enhance your intuition, creativity, and artistic abilities. You may have a natural talent for music, dance, poetry, or other forms of creative expression.

However, it's essential to ground yourself in reality and not let your imagination take over completely, which can lead to escapism, avoidance of responsibility, and self-delusion. You need to learn how to balance your imaginative and dreamy side with the practical aspects of life.

The fact that your Neptune is conjunct the star Terebellum doesn't help with any of this, neither does the fact that it is opposing the star Pollux which could potentially exacerbate any existing issues with drugs or alcohol, with these two energies in opposition, there may be a conflict between assertiveness and intuition, between physical prowess and spiritual sensitivity. The tension created by this aspect may manifest in various ways, depending on your chart and life circumstances. By recognizing and integrating both of these energies, you can develop a balanced approach to physical and spiritual pursuits.

I found that by engaging in the positive nature of Neptune, this directs its energies towards a healthy manifestation in the long run. In case you face significant challenges in achieving this balance, you may want to use the Munka working to clear the negative karma associated with it. Moreover, you may need to strengthen any planets/chakras that may be affected by negative aspects with Neptune.

There was a sermon about Neptune in the old forums, but I've lost the link and it seems I didn't save it as PDF, maybe someone has it. It would be of great help to you, to further understand the nature of Neptune and how to deal with it.

The Ereshkigal mantra and doing more Hatha Yoga can help with taming Neptune, as can Logr which is the Rune for working with this type of energy safely. - Karnonnos
