While it may be difficult living with a strict xtian family and whatnot,
I really wouldn't suggest emancipation unless you are sure you can
support yourself financially (ie; holding down a full time job). Most
states seem to say you must meet at least one of the following criteria
to be elligible for emancipation:
* You must be married, or
* You must be in the U.S. armed forces, or
* You must be living apart from your parents or guardian and be
managing your own money, or
* The court must decide that emancipation is in the best interests
of you, or your parents, or your minor child (if you have one).
If you do not live in the US, ignore the above information, but other
countries will have guidelines for this sort of thing.
I live in England and have friends who moved out at 16/17 and it's not
easy. Finding a full-time job at that age while still in school is hard
enough, even without considering the current state of the economy.
