If you are doing the mars square for physical strength etc then you do not have to do extra rituals and rune workings. That is why you are doing the square.The squares are powerful. Unless you are SUPER bent on getting strength etc then why not. But you should do the mars square for your goal, whatever it is, and save your energy and use runes and affirmations for other workings that may need to be done. If you are just asking if you need to program the energy after you do the square everyday then yes. After doing the vibrations for everyday then program the mars energy for your goal.

No. Mars is the traditional ruler and co ruler of Scorpio. Mars in Scorpio is powerful and does not ruin or expel scorpiod energies. Just do the mantra. That's it.
