How do you guys deal with impatience?

I don’t know how to explain it specifically but for me impatience has always been a weak point.

I think it physically, emotionally and mentally hurts me not to get what I want right now or as soon as possible or even yesterday.

I don’t know how to deal with the day-to-day impatience to get what I want.

I know logically that life doesn’t work in the fast line and the Gods are big on patience and reality needs time for change. But I can’t handle that, I feel.

If we are looking at this from a psychological perspective, it suggests that impatience can be a defense mechanism against unconscious fears about the passing of time and the limitations of life. Impatience in adulthood also stems from the way the parents raise and act when a kid cries when they don't get what they want. If we are talking about impatience with advancement; then try to think about building a house: you have to take time and strength to build a strong base so that everything else can be done faster as you advance. Also remember that impatience is not inherently a bad thing; it can force you to strive for things that a docile person who just lives life to live won't.

Many people believe that ~ 78 years of living is not enough to fulfill your dreams and ambitions and that everything has to be done in a set amount of time and if it isn't, they throw a fit. Yet, if a person strives for their goals every single day, those ~78 years are filled to the brim with things you have or can achieve.

Some practices I have done for myself to control my impatience in a positive matter would be by focusing on the now. Worrying too much about the future or the past can bring unnecessary stress and can also be a trigger for impatience and worry for not achieving a set goal. Make sure to take small steps to goals, and be kind to yourself. We are all individuals who need our own time.

You might try sitting at the table when you are hungry. And wait to eat for 5-15 minutes. Look at your dinner/breakfast, smell it, but never eat. Resist your urges and make them understand who is in charge.

You can hypnotize yourself with a simple affirmation, such as "I am always patient and I understand the importance of patience in a positive way for me," right after you wake up and before going to sleep. You can also invoke Earth if you haven't already. It helps greatly.
