That's lot of misinformation here. The sun sign is irrelevant. I think it's been said many times, the chart ruler is the planet which rules your ascendant sign. For example if your ascendant is Taurus then your chart ruler is Venus, if your ascendant is Sagittarius then your chart rule is Jupiter.

Whether or not you have any planets in your first house is irrelevant, but these would be your co-rulers if you have I think.
