I actually found my first guardian demon without the use of tools. When I was new, I spent most of my time in getting a strong relationship with Father, and when I was ready, I asked him to send me some kind of sign so I could find out who my guardian demon is. That very night, I had a dream about a certain demon, and the next morning I was able to identify him by matching his description on the JoS site with what he looked like in my dream. Not all demons are Goetic or on the JoS site, though, so you may need to do more research than I did. I hope that helps in some way. Later on, I confirmed that he was my guardian demon with a pendulum, just by simply asking if he was, and getting a yes for an answer.
Yes but you need to be relaxed or even better in a trance. You see tools just help our minds do the working easier I would try to find the demons sigil and try to ask Satan to help you out I have found satan can and most of the time if he's not really busy talk to you one on one and help you out just talk to him and explain what it is you need he is very understanding and he may even help you more than expected hail Satan!!
