Goddess Shashthi is also known as the goddess Bastet in ancient Egypt.
Her daemonic name is HAGENTI aka HAAGENTI.
I first searched on google about any cat goddess in Hindu mythology and found the name Shashthi. Then to confirm whether she was Goddess Bastet or not I looked into her characteristics were : about what here duties were towards humanity and what was her special powers. I was confirmed about her identity when I saw that in both the cases she was the protector of children. So that is when I was confirmed of the fact that          Goddess Shashthi was none other than  Goddess Bastet also known as HAGENTI or HAAGENTI.
According to Hindu Mythology: Shashti Devi is sixth incarnation  of Mother Earth hence she is called as Sheshti Devi. Her name is Deva Sena - Consort of  Lord Subramanya Swami ( Kumaraswamy).
She is more very much fond of Children , she protects all children .
It is strongly believed that she always stand beside children and take care of them , and help the be healthy for longevity, and its also believed one who reads, writes and listens  her story will be blessed with children.
