NEW MOON REPORT September 22, 2006 by Maritha Pottenger Each insightful New Moon Report covers general information about transits in the current new moon period. Virgo New Moons are excellent for improving your health and well-being, raising your productivity or becoming more efficient. They are also favorable for any kind of repairs, improvements, refinements, or research and analysis. New Moon and Eclipse, 29 Virgo 20, Friday, September 22, 2006 at 4:46 AM PDT A second New Moon in Virgo, especially in the "last chance-finishing up" 29th degree, puts extra emphasis on the need to do things well. The fact that this New Moon is also an eclipse suggests even more importance. This pattern could be very significant for people born around September 21-25; March 19-24; December 20-24; or June 19-24. It connects (with a semi-square and a sesqui-quadrate) with the Jupiter-Neptune square which follows in a few days. This puts a major focus on ideals, values, ethics, and issues of belief systems. We are being asked to be ultra pragmatic and not get carried away with visionary hopes or fantasies. Staying grounded is the major message-particularly in terms of the physical world and the everyday achievements of doing a good job. Practice, practice, practice! Sun enters Libra, Friday, September 22, 2006 at 9:04 PM PDT Although Libra represents sweetness and beauty, the Sun in Libra is common in lawyers, generals, and highly competitive people. The Sun's urge to shine and achieve recognition will seek a path that involves other people when in Libra. Comparing and contrasting is common. When overdone, the need to be "better than" can interfere in relationships. On the high side, this period can indicate exciting romance, artistic creativity, and joy and celebrations in interpersonal exchanges. Jupiter squares Neptune , Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 1:32 PM PDT The heart and the head are likely to be at war. Or, people may feel torn between "The Truth" and compassion, between tact and candor. Ethical issues are apt to arise. Clashing beliefs and values are quite possible. This is a challenging combination that asks us to be clear about our long-range goals and to be sure that our actions are in alignment with our values. It would be easy to overdo fantasies and wishful thinking. Spiritual outlets provide a very constructive channel for this duo. Venus enters Libra, Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 3:03 AM PDT The planet of love and pleasure enters the sign of partnerships, grace, harmony, and beauty. This is an excellent time for any aesthetic activities. Working with color, line, design, form in just about any fashion is possible. Diplomacy comes a bit more easily. People know how to smooth things over. Relationships could be a bit more loving. We can enjoy pampering one another. Mercury enters Scorpio, Sunday, October 1, 2006 at 9:39 PM PDT The planet of commerce and communication enters the sign of hidden matters. People may be more cryptic in what they have to say. A stronger focus is possible on research, politics, detective work, investigations of all kinds (including criminal), therapy, or businesses that involve joint resources or intense emotions. Writing or speaking could be cathartic-a way to work through strong feelings. A shrewd, incisive approach to information is likely. Full Moon, 13 Aries 43, Friday, October 6, 2006 at 8:14 PM PDT This Full Moon puts the accent on the balancing act between self and other-between wanting things on one's own terms, versus accommodating to the needs of others. Personal and interpersonal desires may clash. We are challenged to find compromises that will please both others and ourselves. This Full Moon could be significant for people born around April 1-6; July 4-8; October 5-9; or January 2-6. The best expression of this Full Moon would be cooperative activities that accent the special qualities of each team member.
