I have recently become a bit confused, and almost too embarrassed to ask - after years of magical involvement I thought I knew the demons quite well, but hey presto - who is Lucifer? Is Lucifer Lucifer Rofocale? Or is he just Lucifer? On The JoS site it says Satan/Lucifer, is Satan Lucifer? I have always thought that Satan is Satan and Lucifer is Lucifer.

I recently had an interesting conversation with a Haitian vodou priest who serves Lucifer as a very powerful lwa (lwa = vodou spirit). He mentioned that Satan and Lucifer are seperate beings.

So, can anyone shed a bit of light on my question?

He is called *Lucifuge* Rofocale not Lucifer. Don't confuse those.

Satan IS Lucifer and Enki and Ptah but Lucifuge Rofocal is a different being, who looks completely different than Satan/Enki.

Satan and Lucifer are the same beings. The Demon you mentioned is named "Lucifuge Rofocale", not "Lucifer Rofocale". I'm guessing the suffix "Luci" has soemthing to do with light, since Lucifer is also called the Morning Star and Demons have also been known as "The Shining Ones" because of their brilliant auras.

As for this Haitian Vodou Priest, he may not be aware of the fact that the enemy mascarades as our Gods and gives out false information to people.

Satan and Lucifer are seperate entities. Lucifer was a Roman God and has nothing to do with Satan. We simply relate this name to Satan because Satan's aura is of white/gold color just like the sun.

It doesn't say that they're separate Gods, it says that they were ORIGINALLY separate Gods but later on Lucifer was given to Satan and now it refers to Him. If you summon "Lucifer" now Satan will come to you.
