brainwaves associated with a trance state can cause you to fall asleep or,
at best, your thoughts to become jumbled and confoluted. Just the other day
i tried laying down during some mantra meditation and after a while i had
to sit up because i could not recite the mantra straight anymore...
By contrast, i have never had this problem in a traditional back-straight
cross-legged position, which is doubtless why the yogis where very strict
on NO LAYING DOWN while meditating.

So, usually I meditate sitting cross legged either on my bead or bean
bag on the floor. Lately though it's started giving me back pains while I
meditate. It's getting extremely annoying and making it very hard to focus.
Have any of you had this problem before and what did you do to fix it?
