Atlantis 2012

Has anyone read "The Rise & Fall of Atlantis"? After reading this and watching some stuff on youtube about how Antarctica was probably Atlantis, but there was a shifting of poles so it froze over and North America unfroze.. It also said humans started out with a high level of spirituality then descended to what we are now, now we're going to rise again. And then I read some stuff about another polar shift happening on 2012.. so anyone think that North America is going to freeze over too?

I highly doubt that the polar shift is gonna happen in 2012. We would definately see the first results now since we are only 2.5 years from it. Also this is impossible to happen in only a month or year, it takes at least thousand of years. You'll probably hear the most absurd things in the 2012 panic, usually from xian and new age sources. Others say that Nibiru the planet X will come in 2012, which again we would see it in the sky by now. I think nothing environmental or planetary will happen in 2012. Maybe economy problems or the fall of xianity but not a physical catastrophe.

We've heard about this "polar shift" for years, where the earth is supposed to be gripped in a planet-busting convulsion. Ain't true, folks ...

The poles are not static, never were, are not now and, it would appear, never will be. They shift all the time. Which makes perfect sense when you consider that little if anything on the planet stays in one place as if bolted down. True, we don't see the shifts because they're usually negligible to the naked eye except when recorded over long periods of time.

In short, don't worry about it. As Lightseeker said, we're going to see all sorts of doomsday scenarios trotted out, each author in competition with the one before in a comical game of one-upmanship. They have entertainment value only.

From what I've researched and seen , the likely location of Atlantis is in the Amazonian river /forests.
Before the continents separated and Africa and Sth America were as one , the city of Atlantis was over the Atlas mountains. Atlas was known as the father of the Pleaidean race who are connected directly with Atlantis.
The snow caps of the sth American Mountains melted and Atlantis was submerged and covered with silt.
Recently, when there was a huge drought and the Amazon was reduced to a trickle, they found thousands of acres of farming patches similar to the Asian method of farming that could of sustained a large city.
Maybe that's how the Asians got their name "Ple-asians"

As already pointed out in the above posts there won't be a natural calamity. Recently on Yahoo News I read an article that was basically an interview with a Mayan Indian. As it turns out any Mayan you ask would be VERY surprised by the notion of the world ending in 2012. There will be change though, just don't ask me what it'll be, I'm not THAT informed. And besides, if you haven't noticed the world's at its end every decade or so according to predictions by "specialists".

The JoS site mentions that Maya means illusion in Sanskrit and the Mayan calendar ending in 2012 probably signifies the ending of the christianity illusion.
