There are many who mistakenly believe that full astral projection is
necessary to visit places, place consciousness within another, or travel
astrally. This is not true. There are different aspects of our souls.

While full astral projection is the most powerful regarding remote
visiting/viewing, this aspect of the soul cannot always go just anywhere on
the astral due to the molecular structure which is too heavy to penetrate
every place.
There is a method where you just tune in and place your consciousness
wherever you want to go. This is the "mental body" aspect of the soul. The
mental body can travel faster and lighter than the full astral body and with
proper training; can be just as reliable as full astral projection of the
ethereal body.
In the beginning, it is often necessary to go into a deep trance and then
will your consciousness wherever you want it to go.
To train yourself- visit a specific place where you can check the accuracy
of the surroundings or people there after you return to the physical world.
When you come out of your trance- write down your experiences in your black
book, and later on, go and check up on the accuracy of your observations.
The reason for trance is because when in trance, the left brain is quieted.
The left-brain is the logical thinking side of the brain and it interferes
with the input we get from telepathic communication and astral experiences,
often because there are expectations and assumptions. This takes practice,
but can be achieved by anyone who wants to work at it.
Full astral projection is a bit different and advanced. If your soul really
leaves your body- you will know it.
