Hey so i am reading man and his symbols by Carl Jung and would like to share a theory of why we may have dreams, besides for our brain repairing the body. So i have a theory that the reason we have dreams, and have a interesting challenge of deciphering what our dreams may mean via the symbolism we attach to strongly in said dream, is because our unconscious is designed in such a way that we discover more hidden truths about ourselves. Via these experiences we have in the unconscious state this allows us to take a deep look at the self or characteristics within us we may be unaware of or be repressing for who knows what purpose or reason. Essentially what i am saying is the unconscious state offers us hidden truths, which we then can become aware of and integrate into the conscious self. Dreams of the self should be studied extensively by all who seek to understand more about themselves.

Your theory is correct and is already a well known fact. If it is new knowledge for you, then you should apply it.

I may add also, that it's not just dreams that teach us about ourselves, but how we behave in waking life. A large portion of what many people think and do at any given moment is not a conscious choice. Truly understanding the drivers behind your own thoughts, feelings and actions can give you just as much awareness about yourself as correctly decoding a dream.

Yes, this is something i just learned quite recently. Thank you for the advice Be blessed.
