Tool is actually my favorite band. They are VERY anti-christian and they have several songs that expose christianity for what it is. If you take a look at their site toolband.com, you will see that they are clearly involved in spirit communication and occult knowledge. RIGHT NOW the main news article on that site is about a book release pertaining to Aleister Crowley. I know for a fact they have given credit to spirits and demons for guitar riffs and pieces of music obtained through summonings. The method used in those summonings is unknown to me, friendly or otherwise.
While they are clearly occultists and anti-christian they have also never overtly shown Satanic ties in lyrics or interviews. My best guess is that they consider themselves Pagan.
