Hello, I am usually not so forward but reading through the site made me remember this little piece of writing I wrote a long while back. Oddly enough, after reading a lot of the information offered, I found so many hidden meanings inside that support what I read. It may seem a little silly, but I feel the urge to share it with you all, perhaps you can shed some light or even confirm what I thought of. Ahaha, well I hope it is received favorably

Eden of Darkness

I exist sole in this Realm of Shadows
A world untouched by the Wavering Light
My kingdom is this infinite oblivion of space
An obsidian abyss that stems from a jagged soul
This darkness that cradled me-
This darkness that embraced me-
Accepted me when all else refused
For I am naught but the dark indulgence that spawned me
A being the Champions of Light cannot hope to save
What name then shall I vainly hope to claim,
If I am shrouded by an unseen mist that renders me nameless?
Nor what form shall I give myself,
If my amorphous image hovers upon the edge of mortal periphery?
Nay I am naught,
Simply a faceless entity weaved oft darkness,
For it is such the Shadows will remember,
A fallen being sentenced to forever wander,
The lonely roads untread in darkness
Dreaming of the long-forgotten Light; forsaken
This-This is my Eden of Darkness

When I read this, I think of a "hidden" Paradise...one with a forgotten route, and so it is shrouded and hidden. As well, when I wrote this, I had felt that I had been let down by the "Wavering Light" too often and so turned to "darkness" for acceptance so hence the title Eden of Darkness...I don't know...this piece is my most favorite of all I have written, it reminds in a nudging way that what I most need/want has always been there in the dark, waiting patiently, but perhaps I am merely grasping at straws...

Either way, it feels like an odd coincidence to me, that I stumbled upon this site and group and suddenly feel the need to share this little piece of forgotten writing. Something guided me here, I am sure of it...

Well either way, I do hope you enjoy it, even if only for the literary amusement it may provide. In the meantime, I will continue to learn more about all of you and the philosophies that accompany you. I admit, a lot of my feelings and viewpoints align very nicely with what I am learning.

Thank you for your time.

Its beautifully written although it should be actually the opposite, mainstream religions are about darkness and ignorance and Satan is the bringer of light and knowledge (it should be obvious if you get in contact with Him, he has a VERY bright aura and when i meditate on Him i see a strong light). I felt i was in darkness for years with xianity and after coming to Satanism i started enlightening my soul. And I actually don't have any philosophies or beliefs, i go with what i researched and i learned from my experience and from the Gods/Demons and i found to be true.

=/ I apologize, that wasn't exactly the imagery or message I was trying to convey with this poem. Perhaps I should make myself a little clearer by explaining how I feel it connects to Satanism in a way? I realize I have a bad tendency to write in layers when it comes to poetry, I had a wish to be a bard for whatever reason and I don't have full mastery over the English language anyways.

Um let's see...the poem shouldn't be read so literally. The darkness I wrote of is all that is shunned and exiled and rejected and cast into a negative light, it is quite the opposite of the definition of darkness, does that make some sense? The Wavering Light is what I name those forces that have brought me disappointment many times over, the mainstream religions if you will. To me they speak of Light, but however there is none to be found within them hence why it "wavers" to me.

The darkness is my name to that which I found comfort in, although in reality it is just a warmth I cannot explain, only that it is there. But because I have chosen this path to take, the consequences are that I have become "nameless" to the Wavering Light. But, the Light I mention of towards the end is a different Light-one I feel that I have forgotten and now I have the urge to find again.

Forgive me, I tried my best to explain myself and what I thought of in this poem. =/

Thank you for your time,
there's so much to learn here.

I think it's lovely, and don't worry about your use of language. There is the concept of inverse aesthetics, where one sees beauty and comfort in imagery that the majority find dark or even disturbing. It is the basis for Gothic culture, (that which sprung as a revolt to Victorian culture, not a bunch of kids wearing black and listening to Sisters of Mercy, although they count as well.) I would probably put it better if it were not 3:30 AM and be heading off to work.;).
