From one experience, I followed the astral projection method as suggested by opening a door with the main seven chakras as knobs. This took a few attempts, and eventually I managed to do it(maybe)(Maybe someone can disprove it, I will be making more attempts). This was around 10 years ago soon after I dedicated, and I was the overexcited type to begin trying all of things I shouldn't have been, instead of focusing on the routines that would have seen out better all around advancement and control. If you think you are beyond the beginner sections, likely you are not, this is to anyone really, considering the mantras, power meditations, and workings there carry themselves to nearly everything else you will be doing. They are tied in as the foundation to advancement, and are a constant part of all other parts, whether it is the pronunciation and vibration of mantras, visualization of chakras and energy, feeling said energy, breathing exercises, etc.
It was this middle of the day, maybe 1 or 2 pm. All I had done was close the door and blinds. I laid down and put myself into a trance, surprising because before long it felt more like sleep, maybe it was. I had put myself into trance and began the sequence of visualizing the chakras spinning and then stopping, rotating them as knobs, and walking through the door that opened. I woke up in what seemed like the same room, except it looked like the room was as it would be at midnight, with the hall light on, and the door open. I had thought I had overslept and managed to wake up at night. I got out of bed and walked out of the room and down the hallway, nothing seemed to strange then. After I got into the kitchen and kind-of integrated office area, I looked around and for what I do not really remember. I looked back down the hallway, and at that point I just started floating up towards the ceiling. It was strange, and of course, everything looked like it was night still, when in reality it was only a little past the afternoon. I found myself soon back in my bed, looking up at the ceiling of the room, I felt an extremely intense vibration, at the time I was still very new to this and it spooked me, I did not fully know what was happening. The intense vibration was kind of paired with immobility, all I remember was that the vibration was extreme, a bit much for me at the time. Maybe this was the process of the soul reconnecting with the body. A bit after I came to, as if waking up from a dream, though, nearly every second was easy to remember. The sun was still out, no hall light, no shadows cast on the wall, nothing. Everything looked as before I had performed the working.
Perhaps this will help, I do not think I have mentioned that ever if not for quite some time if I have, but it was a rush, and with better control I hope to try again. Maybe this was my sign to take another crack at it. I recommend making sure you will not be disturbed by anything for a very long amount of time of where you believe you will be out of yourself. Maybe this is why I was pulled back into myself, that is the only thing I have not figured out from that experience. Be careful, but good fortune to you in your endeavors to come.
