What's Currently Still Being Fixed After Migration

There are some concerns regarding the site, particularly the search query restrictions. Currently, I am unable to search for common 3-character words, a functionality that was available before the forum changes. Is it possible to reduce this restriction to 2-3 characters, with a preference for the former? This adjustment would be beneficial due to the prevalence of abbreviations, including those with such low character counts like "SS" and "HPS".

Another issue involves clicking on any image within the featured content section, which results in a logout from the redirected page. Consequently, I need to switch back to the previous page to remain logged in. This complicates my search process as I must either manually navigate the forums or use specific keywords for searching.

Lastly, is there a setting in the profile that allows for hiding the buttons covering part of the banner? This issue prevents me from viewing my full banner, and I would appreciate guidance on resolving this matter. If that feature is not implemented as of now, I am willing to wait for its inclusion.

1. Sure, can be changed.

2. Not sure what is going on with your browser, does not log me out at all. Perhaps you are preventing your login session cookies from being stored?

3. There is no setting for this, and will take time to implement. I am the only person who is currently fixing bugs for this migration.

This update is like if I burned down your home, then I say it's okay look at this new shed I got for you. Look at the bright paint on the new shed, isn't it more colorful looking?

Meanwhile everything you owned that was in your home was all lost and gone. And the new shed has no electricity, no water, no heat, no air conditioner, no way to cook food. But it has some small feature added like a welcome mat to clean your shoes, so you're told it is a great improvement.

I think you are overreacting. We discovered that the original forum software was simply not up to code to handle huge influxes of new users. We were dealing with constant spambots from the failing captcha, and other issues began culminating in a slowness of the forums. Moderating it took significant amounts of time, due to software limitations. Many times in life, as you must know, you need to take a few steps back, cut out what isn't working, and rebuild a stronger foundation.

HP and I personally decided on the software and the changes to make, and I personally handled the importing of the data. It is very easy to complain, but much harder to step up and carry responsibilities on your shoulders to drive JoS forward. We are moving JoS from just a forum community, to a real, living community that will exist outside of just a forum. We are going to need to attract newbies from all over the world, and the old forum was not capable of doing this.

If you are desperate to make these changes, please contact me ([email protected]) and we can work to program these new features together. Otherwise if you are just going to throw your hands up and complain, then things will remain as they are.

I'm learning to get used to this new format! And yes it takes getting some use to! I see a lot of people are not happy with the new changes! It's just the people need to learn to get used to the things that they can do on here? It's going to take some time and it's going to take a minute but then again people will still be able to do the things that they used to on here just the same

Or we could just go back to what we had before, which was working perfectly for like 7 years. And undo all of this bullshit. I searched in the regular search, and I went to my profile and searched just in my messages that I made, and neither of these are functional.

Who gives a fuck about adding a few more colors and pictures and a couple features from twitter if the core functionality of the forum is dead? The whole point of this forum existing is that the forum is supposed to be functional so people can use it to share information and educate people. If you want twitter, then go to twitter. But there is a true and important purpose for our forum to exist, and this has been killed. I would rather have something that looks plain and simple and works perfectly in every way, instead of something that looks complicated and colorful and does not work at all.

These are genuine bugs and not "features" of the new system, and will be fixed in time. Some patience is required here, as for example this search bug was not even known until now.

The main point of moving to this platform was because it could support the future growth of JoS. The older forums was also functionally limited, not just aesthetically, hence why the desire for improvement arose. That does not mean some obstacles to these upgrades wouldn't happen, or can't ever be fixed.

With the older form I couldn't talk and communicate with other people! And I couldn't get on and have conversations without interrupting a sermon page and throwing people off topic! Not to mention the fact that I can download and upload pictures and threads! Maybe I can't download music and upload it and get it on here like other people can? Because they have ways of figuring things out? Yes it is a bit unique and different and we've got all the symbols that we could use that makes texting and typing pasting and taping and pinning a lot easier if you want to start a thread or an article and yes there are a lot of bugs on here that people don't seem to like or understand? I'm trying to get used to this too and I can see that you guys come up with this form to make things easier for the website and for the future of the joy of satan? You guys did a fabulous job! But of people are complaining and if they're not satisfied? Then what is there to do? And I'm sure that we can come up with something

There is active work to solve these problems as they represent problems for us too, which are far more important.

Your comments are heavy, irrational, providing some feedback yes, but mostly extreme exaggerations. You are taking your claims too far, only because you have some issue with styling or whatever.

The fact you want a simple hut to justify your emotional aspects over the previous forum, which everyone loved [it's the same forum, same content, more functionalities], is not in consistency with the reality of what must be done.

The last forum software was crawling at 250 visitors, and you want it "back". So it can lag and leave us in the middle of the road, I guess.

The imagined situation is more like this: You had a house, you couldn't fit in it, it was falling apart. So some people come in and move you to a mansion to a better and safer place. You cry while you leave your house of course but the tornado, hacking or whatever, was going to topple it anyway.

Then these people take you to a mansion instead, and you complain because you have to wait for 3-4 days to get your new suntan bed and because someone didn't bring you the correct suntan lotion.

Now the slight joking aside, please be patient as these issues are being resolved.

I ran a bunch of keywords such as "addiction" and so on, as these are posts with replies that can help others. They do not show up in the search results.

Thanks for informing, we will look into this and seek to resolve it.

The problem is that the previous database is not 100% compatible with this system. I think this forum could be made to function better than the previous with few updates, however, it will never work right with the previous database. I do also think that the previous forum was enough in terms of complexity, functionality, and look (only a dark theme was needed on my part).

I understand your feelings about this, I hope that everything will solved eventually. Also keep in mind that upgrades and changes are needed, this modern look might be more appealing for newcomers, even if I'm highly on the side of minimalism for a hundred reasons.

Never is a big word, there will certainly be some differences, but there are also some perks. One of the perks is that if certain programmers respond, we are going to do tremendous things for the forums, for both the history of the JoS and the future. None of this was possible in the previous software.

Perhaps one of the most cautious people to certain changes has been me. There was endless forethought and planning for this that goes back 3 years in time.

However, if you see a forum software collapsing over 250 active users, you cannot expect the 25k active users to be lifted by it.

This platform for example, can and might support in the future a minimalist theme. The previous one wasn't even loading the pages, and it was a heavily paid, armored and powerful server, still to no avail because the software sucked.

My best recommendation for future points on all of these matters is to not try to judge the whole universe based on the size of your own shoes, because you will more than likely understand that bigger things cannot exist within the confine of this "comfort".

In other words back to the drawing board?🤔⚡️ I AM sure you guys can come up with something! That's just as good as the l last format and a bit like this one combined!? If you were to work the two elements? And get everyone on here working! I'm sure you guys can come up with one hell of a format! That is just as nice as this one but functions a lot better giving everybody what they want and need! Don't get me wrong I think this format is nice but then again if people are whining and complaining about it? Let's look at it this way! You guys come up with one hell of a fucking library! And you've come up with all different kinds of programs that goes along with art and music and everything else! However I'm kind of bummed that we don't have satanic chefs on here! It'd be nice if we have a few cooks and people who can share recipes on here and open up a Joy of Satan cookbook and have a group page where we can all get together and talk about food and wine and cheese from around the world and swap recipes handed down from our grandparents and such? I was kind of hoping for that too? But since we haven't gone that far yet? We still have a lot of work to do! And I know you guys did a fabulous job with what you did! It just takes a little practice and I know you guys can pull this off perfectly!

I would not be unhappy with this update if it was actually functional. I would not care about the changes in how it looks if everything worked correctly. But when the most important things are broken and it appears that the only thing gained is a different look, that is not an equal trade.

I am not so unhappy about this just for an emotional reason or for any small reason. But when you throw away tens of thousands of posts of valuable information by making it impossible to search and access any of these, people are not going to be happy about this. And it is not just an emotional reaction based on nothing for this loss to make people angry. Or the loss of other features like the preview.

I don't know any programming. But I do work on repairing, modifying, and upgrading systems that are each used by hundreds of people per day and thousands of people per year. If I have to shut something down while working on it, people are already unhappy. If I do something wrong and I have something stuck as non functioning, everything is fucked up and it's all my fault. So the way I work every day is a similar situation as doing an upgrade like this. I don't touch or change anything without understanding exactly what it will do. I don't touch or change anything unless I am certain that I can put it back exactly the way that it was. I do something, then I immediately test it to see that is is correctly functioning the way that I expect it to, then I move to the next thing. I never change a hundred things at one time without testing them. And if I change something and it ends up not being functional, I immediately put it back the way it was so that it is functional, and then can try something different.

Even if my work is not with programming, the procedures while doing it are the same. Because this is how to avoid all of these kinds of problems. I'm not just talking as somebody with no similar experience.

Hey we just fixed this, calm down and try searching again.

Anything else I should do?

Why do you assume that HPHC or JG AA would be ok with these major bugs? If they couldn't be fixed, the option to revert back is always there. However, as HPHC described, we need to improve the forums, and sometimes this results in certain risks.

Regarding the operation of JoS, any work done is more informal in nature, without the financial support of thousands of customers and supporting technicians who can learn the full extent of the systems at play. This would take too long to establish, given the goals of JoS and any plans for expansion. These are two separate situations and factors which influence the timeline of product development.

So that is why the development cycle was expedited, even if that resulted in some hiccups. You cannot lose faith over this just because some problems appeared, especially as it is through your own user experience that highlighted to us these problems in the first place. Maybe the process is turbulent, but is not a sinking or sunken ship that it may feel like, as it has only been a few days and JG AA has been working very hard to patch and restore everything.

Thank you very much. I didn't expect that this would be fixed. I'm thankful that I was wrong.

Please have a little faith in us and don't over-react. These problems represent severe problems for us first and foremost as it's on us to make the solutions happen.

All of these have always been fixed. Everything mentioned here is either fixed now or will be fixed. Therefore, that must be kept in mind.

We know what we are doing.

We even plan here, if things go well, to introduce all posts from 2006-7 going all the way into the ancient history of the JoS Yahoo Groups, to salvage the information. Not 100% sure if possible yet, but this board is very strong and we can do many things.

Patience and care is required, please recognize we are working on everything constantly.

Also, do notify us of any bugs found, and we will get in and address them until the forums are 1000% functional.

As maybe you know, I have a work for Yahoo groups. I'll leave the link.

Very soon I will add nearly 200 articles here. For now there are 56 sermons. I plan to make this a separate topic.

I may seem a little overzealous. But I believe I can do it.

Regards, HP Cobra.

Look! If you want to know what my problem is? I would like to do an article but the thing is I don't even know what to do? People keep telling me that you can do your own thread? And that you can upload music on here and share it? And I tried to and it doesn't work I don't even know what I'm doing wrong laugh out loud? And it seems to me that everybody is complaining about something and now I might as well talk about the problems I'm having? I see everybody else posting a thread and they have their questions and you know I have got a shitload of questions? And I have got a lot of things that I want to share and talk about and if I knew how to do an article I would be right up there with HapS Lydia and some of these others on here that come up with great ideas! Sharing wonderful articles and sermons and threads and I am desperately trying to figure out a way where I can do that? Plus I would like to share music and every time I try to it doesn't come through

You can post anything you want (within forum rules) to this subforum, but the clergy subforum is only for clergy. This is even in the title and the description. I had to delete your post, if you did not have it saved I can copy-paste it to you in DM.

We have many valuable members who post articles to the main subforum, and they help to enrich the JoS community and all of the members here :)

Go to the Joy of Satan 666 Subforum and click the "Post thread" Button, on the right hand side of the screen. Here is an image:

And another problem I just did a thread and accidentally sent it to the clergy instead of the joy of Satan and I'm trying to repost it. HPS Lydia gave me a picture and was showing me how to do it but when I go to log on to the joy of Satan group the post is not pop up all it does is leave me an open space to do another one and I don't want to do a whole nother thread duplicate because I would have to take a photo stat picture of it and copy it word for word and send it into the right group! So the thread that I have created quote how do people feel about nursing homes these days? And that was my thread and I posted it into the wrong group! And now I can't move it and reposted where it should be! I should be able to have that on my own profile or where it should be at the end of the thread so that I could have an option? As to take it down if I have to or if I need to move it?

I sent it to you so you can just copy-paste it. If you're on a phone, press and hold to highlight all the text, copy it, then go to where I showed you, and paste it in. If you're on a laptop, then just click and drag to highlight all your text, then copy it.

Remove any extra text like the part that I had written, and then post it :)

I realized that this system has a lot more potential than the previous in every way, which I mentioned several times, my only assumption was that it won't be compatible with the previous database, which looks like I was wrong about.

I tend to fall into the mistake of assuming and judging things as I see them.
Thank you HP, ApolloAbove, and everyone who works on this!

and even better, enabling us to upload videos here.

We can attach files, but there is a strict limit because we would need a lot of storage. If we would have a lot of storage like at least a petabyte we could make a JoS video hosting platform like youtube. 1petabyte is 1000+ Terrabyte. Youtube has at least 1 exabyte which is 1 million+ terrabyte.

I presumed as much, that is why I suggested expanding the approved sites if that's a thing. Maybe another option could be embedding the link to a literal video file that one uploads somewhere else as links to video files ending in .mp4, .mkv and such.

Why are there two sections for forum statistics? I think one is enough. The small one is my preference as the big one does not look aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks for your hard work, JG ApolloAbove!

Works for me. Look forward for the search function.

The media function, if possible, could include embedding alt sites like Odysee and Bitchute, and even better, enabling us to upload videos here.

I believe it theoretically could, because the Embed from Odyssey is actually fairly straightfoward. Not sure, we will check this out however.

I also tried in vain last night to move my post to the joy of Satan groups following exactly what HPS Lydia told me to do and still my thread hasn't even appeared where it should be! It is about senior citizens nursing homes and instead of posting it where it should have posted in the first place? I should have taken my time to read the instructions on how to do this right! That post is going to have to be removed and taken down! And then I will have to start over again and this time post the thread where it was supposed to be in the first place! I was up for 3 hours last night trying to figure out how to take that down and move it and finally I was able to go in and open up that box and put the link into that and apparently my post hasn't showed up anywhere! And it is still there right where I left it my tablet needed to be charged up it was about 4:00 in the morning and at that time I just gave up and went to bed! So at least I tried and I am still trying to figure out this new format and it is kind of mind-boggling

I want to thank HPS Lydia for her health and her patients! She probably thinks I'm a bonehead right now! Because I haven't done anything to move the thread or the post I created! Figuring because everybody else can get on here and do an article or share a post? I figured that I could take a stab at it and like an idiot I posted it in the wrong group! But at least I tried! And I learned a lesson! Next time! I decided to do a post a link or a thread? I will post it in the joy of Satan where it belongs and where it should be! And next time if I have to I will ask for instructions? From somebody who is really good at this kind of thing! And learn to figure things out properly! And I apologize for the confusion and the mess!

I'm not sure if the "Unread" function works properly. If I click on "New Posts", it sorts unread posts on the top, after a while it says "Threads below have not been updated since your last visit." but there are threads below that I never seen.

(although now I have 3 pages of unread posts which have never happened since than, maybe this got fixed right now?)

Above that line are topics where new comments have been added since the last time your account was logged in here. Below that line, you have not read those yet, but nothing new has been added to them since last time you were here.

It should put threads that I have never seen above the line in my opinion, like the old "unread" function.

All of these are unread, regardless of being above or below the line. The line has nothing to do with unread. The line is what it says it is, topics that more comments have been added since last time you were logged in.

The only issue I've had was posts disappearing. Shadowcat and I replied to a thread and our posts disappeared. Maybe the OP posted a duplicate thread and the one with replies was deleted by mods accidentally.

Greetings all. I hope you are enjoying the new forums.

First, if you need help recovering your account still, please contact me. To those of you who contacted me recently, please check your inboxes.
The forum migration may have reverted your username to a previous one, so try logging in with your old username first, and then requesting a username change within your profile settings.

As of right now we are still working on:
- EDIT: EMAIL HAS BEEN FIXED. TRY REQUESTING A PASSWORD RESET IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET INTO YOUR ACCOUNT!
- Coloring issues with some website elements not being very visible
- Nobody was intentionally stripped of mod powers or "rank." If you are unable to do something you used to be able to, please email.
- EDIT: Bookmarks are going to be restored for everyone very soon.

In the future:
- More themes for everyone to choose from
- More reactions and different emojis to use

Thank you for your patience.
I enjoy the new layout & thank you for your help. :)

I have just submitted a thread post which is awaiting moderator approval (I forgot what that was like, having to be approved! :p), and I tested two links to threads on this forum in the description text box on Bitchute videos which I intend to add to said thread, and the exact links to those two threads work fine when pasting them directly into the web browser, but when clicking on them on Bitchute, the URL remains in the address bar yet the page displayed is the forum homepage. If I remove the forward-slash which is added automatically to the end of URLs, the URL in the address bar includes an equals sign at the end; if I keep the forward-slash there, the URL includes %2F= at the end. The result for showing the respective thread URLs in the address bar but showing the forum homepage is the same in both cases. I both copied the URL from the address bar and also used the "share" feature for one of the threads, in the hopes the URL might be different (i.e. thread URL or post URL), but it is the same URL with the same problem.

Thanks.

P.S. I also tried it with the link to the post number (the number next to the "share" icon/symbol to a thread), and the same problem remains.
