Hello! I began doing the SaTaNaMa meditation for regenerating and healing my cells, telomeres and DNA.

I started doing this for 7 minutes. But then, I felt like doing it for 10 minutes.

In the beginning, it made me feel very, very good. However, in time, even when I was just 2 minutes in, I started yawning and feeling very tired. I didn't even want to finish it, and eventually I stopped doing it. :(

What should I do? Why am I feeling that way?
I need to confess that I'm not physically active and haven't done yoga in a long time. Is it possible that physical inactivity can make me not enjoy the mantra's benefits, or is it something else?

Most likely energy deficiency.

You have few options for rising your energy level, like these:

Or the
Ek Ong Kara SaTaNaaMa Shiri Vhaa Guru
Mantra, and affirm that it rises your energy level (for all of the above).

Maybe this meditation allows you to connect with 'tiredness' and 'fatigue' that has accumulated in your body at some deep level so you can rest and regenerate. Other possibility is, due to lack of physical activity, you don't operate on much energy on daily basis, so once you meditate, it makes you calm, relaxed and therefore tired.

Listen to your body carefully and determine what is trying to say.

What you are describing here are the common symptoms of burnout. You see, when you do too much you end up burning yourself up which results in you making steps back instead of advancing.
To resolve this you should take some time off. Maybe do only the basics for a while and start building up again when you feel right.

As for the other part of your question, yes when you stop doing Yoga your bioelectricity levels drop and your energy pathways start to atrophy again which results on your workings become
more ineffective and less enjoyable as well.

Below is a link from a sermon High priest HoodedCobra has written in regards to breakings your limits in reagards to meditation. I suggest you read it so that you won't make the same mistake again.

It's a natural reaction. You'll even feel this from other meditations, more than likely. Just work on amassing more light/bioelectricity and try it again at another date
