1. What exactly constitutes a chakra being "open"/"empowered"? What exactly am I supposed to feel? Subtle or Strongly?

2. Is meditation without trance wrong or bad? Am I simply day dreaming, imagining, or simulating meditation? I assume something happens but to a much lesser degree. Or is trance = only way to meditate?

When a chakra is strong, you feel it and have no problems in the areas ruled by the chakra.

Trance is not necessary, but its effects may vary. During trance, we can see our soul better, solve problems and everything we need to balance in more detail.

1. The more strongly you feel your chakras the better.

2. Trance really helps to improve the quality of every meditation. A lot of people stress about this, they ask endless questions about trance, but it's really not that complicated. Just close your eyes, breathe and relax. The more you do it the better you will be at it. You probably entered a trance state so many times without you even noticing, feeling the sensation of falling is not the only way to enter a trance state. It's literally just about relaxing.
