You got hate because your post came off as insulting when it did not need to be. Instead of trying to delete and hide from this, you should explain that you didn't mean for feelings to be hurt, but that you were simply trying to honestly describe your thoughts.

Sometimes you can delete recently created posts by clicking the button with the X next to the post which you want deleted.
In the case of an old topic or old post, you can report it and the mod team will decide if they want to delete it or not.
