Affirmation technicality

More specifically I want to ask about when and how it should be done. So for example, the aura of protection meditation, after breathing in I affirm to myself but should the affirmation be said out loud , in my head, during the inhale? During exhale or keep it in my head as I'm breathing in and out?

I couldn't feel a particular way while saying it out loud or saying it in my head but I wanted to ask everyone else how you all normally do your affirmations during meditations. Am I overthinking this?

The affirmation is simply a means to program energy through words, although visualization also programs energy. As it is only an extension of your will, it can be said in your head or aloud.

While you breath in energy, you are building it inside of your, and here it just sits, waiting for additional programming. When you either exhale or mentally direct the energy outward and around you, it again changes location and waits for additional programming.

When you either visualize the energy changing into a manner that protects you, or you affirm that the energy has done this, then the energy then bends to your will and adopts this new programming.

In a sense, an affirmation is similar to a command, except that it happens in present tense. It is the same with our physical life: You hand simply grabs something without delay, based on your will. It doesn't need to necessarily be spoken to occur, it just occurs and that is it.

In the same way, on the astral, our mind guides our will to change energy as we see fit. In that sense, you willed the energy to do something, so it just does. Speaking the affirmative phrase multiple times is just a guide for your will, but without your willpower, the affirmative words mean nothing.

As you continue to practice the fundamental exercises, or do other meditations like "Directing Energy", your confidence and willpower with energy and magick will increase, and you won't be as prone to overthinking.

Yes, it sounds like you understand affirmations. The will and intention is what counts. The words are only there to help you remember what to apply your will towards, and do this consistently for a working.

No, don't think that will energy "will work" in a future tense. It has to be present tense. Instead, you can think that it had happened, or is actively finishing, or something like that. Energy reacts instantly based on will.

Focus on the end goal. If energy is supposed to be protecting you, then go and sense it there. This is how we "realize" things. Even if you cannot see it well, perhaps you can feel the energy around you. Relaxing your body, although it doesn't need to be a full trance, will help with this.

Transformation is ruled by Pluto, which reflects in the Eihwaz rune. This energy is hermaphroditic, which shows that both yang (willpower) and yin (senses and calmness) are needed for the best results. So in the case which you are overthinking, try to rely more on visualizing the change; focusing on the result and not just the words themselves.
