THE NEW JOY OF SATAN FORUMS ARE NOW LIVE!

Speechless! I don't know how you manage to do this in one day but that is impressive!
Sure not everyone will like this, it's entirely different of what we are used to, but I see a ton of space for improvements, compared to the other platform, it was basically complete.

My biggest red flag is that I can't use uMatrix addon, I liked that there was no "bloat" in the previous forums. And I'm not favor of that basically every JoS Site is now "bloated" I'm not sure if this is a privacy/security breach, but besides this, I like it.

As always, I'll share my ideas for improvements:
-JoS designed emojis: it looks like these are facebook emojis or something, I don't like them. If it's possible, we should re-design these.

-more emojis: thumbs down, hearth (this is my most wanted one, if I really like a post, I won't "thumbs up" it, but I rather put a hearth. For me, the thumbs up is phlegmatic.

-a different liking design: I think there should be a "like" and "dislike" bottom, and a "reaction" button where you can react to it with emojis. Also, Odysee made a very unique design for this, if a comment gets too much dislike on odysee it get's "squashed" which makes the comment blank, and you can only read it if you want (by clicking on a button).

-more themes: Yes we finally have a dark theme, thank you, but as I said I don't like gray themes, and this is gray. There could be 3 categories of themes: light, dark, and mixed. One of the dark themes should be, really, mostly be BLACK, not mostly be gray. The mixed could be that some elements are white/light color, some are not. But this is not necesarry, I'm okay if there is only a black theme added.

-Unique JoS forum banner/icon: I really don't know how this is called but in the browser, on the tab it says "THE NEW JOY OF SATAN FORUM", and it shows an icon next to it. This icon is the same for joyofsatan.org, so if it's possible it should be changed so I can differentiate the two.

I have not explored yet, and simply, not used the forums, so I'll definitely share more ideas.

And a question: Before the forum was down, I posted a lot of replies, which did not get approved than. Did they got approved? Are they lost? Because I got no notification from them.

In regards to adding new reactions, I suggest adding the Jewish star for obvious Jew posts. Makes you immediately alert to what is going on in the post.

I think it is amazing that reactions are added, because usually people write posts like "Thank you!" or "Congratulations!" which can easily be replaced by reactions, this way saving time and space in the thread.

All in all, I think it is amazing that we have a new forum with a variety of new functions (in one day, nonetheless!) with more to come, I am sure. Thank you High Priest HoodedCobra666 and JG ApolloAbove, it is an amazing start to the Year of the Dragon!
 
Now that I've spent a while looking around...

These forums are very sleek, modern, and much more interactive than before! Well done, HP HoodedCobra and JG ApolloAbove!

Everyone can also write on member's profiles, and follow members, which makes this all more community-oriented. We can also ignore members, so everyone can ignore the trolls, lol.

The search bar is also interactive, so when searching for posts by a member, we do not have to guess at how their username is spelled. Just a type a few letters and all available options will show up, and click on the correct one.

I really like how we can "like" posts. Many times I was going to reply to a question, and someone else already replied pretty much how I was going to, and I did not want to reply just saying what the other member did. So now I can "like" the reply and the OP will know that I am essentially verifying the reply by the member who replied :)

I agree! This is so much quicker than posting, waiting for various pages to load, waiting for approval of the post, and so on.
 
I can't access my account manually, I think my g-mail is not working. I will continue from here.

I have mixed feeling on this update, i probably just have to get used to it. There are a couple of things that i am missing / that could be upgraded in my opinion, first is the front page, the old layout had more room for important messages, i would love to see a return of that. the threads are rather short, so an option to increase the amount of replies on a thread would be great. Also the dark theme is more in line with spiritual satanism (At least in my opinion) so could the dark theme be the preset instead of the light theme?
 
It looks like that it is impossible for me to search for replies. I can only search for threads. The options are there, but the results will only be threads.

Also, I think this birthday stuff should be deleted ASAP. Someone will be that stupid to give their birthday and it's very dangerous.

I really miss this, I want this back.

For dark theme, click on the lightbulb icon on navigation bar
 
I am glad to see that the forums are updated.

This display looks awesome.

Thank you HPHC and also ApolloAbove [JG] for the work you have put for the forum designs.

An idea I would have, for the forum guide as I have seen it's talked about here, is to also specify what each rank means. I personally don't know what the rank of "Active Member" means 😀?

Nice work indeed. Change IS good although it will take some getting used to. Thank you for the upgrade, it improves the experience by a lot. It warms my heart to see all the progress lately with the new website, projects, wiki than this. Our house is growing to become what it was meant to be. May blessings rain down on both of you most of all and on the rest of us according to merit.

Wow the new forums look AMAZING! Nice work! It will certainly take some getting used to as we have seen the old theme for years but this just looks great!

Go to your account, then click on "account details". You will see your name with a button next to it to change it. Change it, then I can approve it :)

(For anyone else reading this, I am leaving name change requests by long-term members for HPHC to decide. I will only change usernames that were reverted to a prior username when the forums moved, or usernames for new members who have not yet established an identity here.)

Ooh that is interesting. It would be nice if someone changes his username, that his older username stays in his account profiles for others to see.
It would be easier for recognising old members who changed their names.
 
Since this forum layout is similar to other forums I have used, it isn't too much of a difference to me. Although in a way, the outdated style of the old forums kind of had its own unique feeling as a result, but I'm sure I'll become used to its current appearance.

One thing I particularly liked about the old forums, was the size of our profile pictures on the left. I always instantly knew people by their profile pictures, but now that they are smaller (and circular), it sort of impacts their sense of presence, in my opinion. I know that might seem strange, but I simply liked that aspect of the previous forum design. The rest is no issue, though.

This is really cool. The new forums looks gorgeous, and more modern. Put this aside this will benefits new people, being the site more appealing to the eye will surely encourage more people to read and commit. Or at least I hope. Thanks for your hard work!☺️

my name changed with the forum update, yes sir.
i recognize the name "even if they see too" is an account i created in the past but hadn't taken forward.
