Tips. I am really somehow disoriented about tips, it is a permanent struggle... tip, do not tip, how much... give or receive.
My very personal opinion is that tips are good as a form of reward, but in current society this may lead to disappointment when you give a very good service and you get nothing in return. Be it a tip or an extra-payment from your boss (I won't go in detail) - I both received and gave off "tips". So I know both sides how it works.
Until I have been so lucky to visit Japan, that is a very socially advanced country. Japanese people consider tip an offense and they do not want it, or refuse it. Their attitude is: giving a good service is my duty and I am paid for this. The customer pays a price included my good service. All runs very smoothly and Japanes waiters are very kind amd efficient with strangers/tourists too, that is not common.
I see that tips lead to working "for the tip" and forgetting your standard duty, i.e. if someone does not give a cent when you provided a super service, you may feel bashed down.
Are you starting to think only to tips or to your retribution also? It might be good also raising your income level, with magick.
