I have been reading about Ancient Egypt lately. Maybe someone else has noted this before. The Egyptian symbol for a thousand was a lotus plant.

The crown chakra was called the 'thousand petal lotus' in traditional Far Eastern texts.

This probably shows the connection between the two cultures, the Egyptians having derived their spirituality from the far East.
